Great Premise, what happened to it?
The concept of this show was to discuss middle school aged stories and experiences. One of the hosts is a celebrity which also helps to get celebrity guests to talk about their own experiences. This is incredibly interesting for people as it helps relate their lives to their favorite celebrities. There are even shared stories from listeners at the end of the episodes. However, the tone has seemed to change and there’s an obvious effort to bring the conversations back to middle school. Even the opening “title” introductions have changed to remove the fact this is a middle school podcast. In addition to the loss of theme, it’s hard to know when the show is back from commercial breaks since there’s no music, there’s obviously a lot of content removed from editing, and there’s way too much focus on Penn’s celebrity status. An episode now and then about his show “You” is totally fine but sometimes this feels like a “You” podcast. Again, I enjoy the connectivity of something we all relate to (middle school/puberty) with the extra touch of relating to celebrities. But that’s not what this podcast is anymore.

    All the love.
I don’t know how I stumbled upon Podcrushed, but I’m so warmly happy that I did. I think many came for Penn, but I didn’t know much about him. I ended up staying for Nava and Sophie, though. No hate to Penn, he’s lovely, but it’s such a refreshing and comforting thing to hear two intelligent women ask meaningful questions and give thoughtful prompts to the guests. Nava is so relatable in so much of her struggles and areas she finds peace. Sophie is a beacon of light and honesty. Both of them should narrate audiobooks and both *definitely* need to narrate guided meditations on YouTube. PLEASE!!🥰 Penn, you’re great too. My first crush was in 7th grade and I fell so hard for him, that when we broke up, I cried so hard I threw up. He was my first *real* kiss and to this day, I remember it as being a really nice first kiss. It wasn’t awkward or gross, it was sweet. An embarrassing moment from middle school was getting my period in class while wearing khaki overalls. I had no idea until someone I knew who wasn’t a close friend, took me aside in sixth period PE and told me. It must’ve been there all day. I remember feeling so vulnerable and exposed. To this day, I remember exactly how the shame felt in my cheeks. I wish I could hug 13 year old Abby.

    Best podcast out there
Just found this podcast recently after watching some old school Penn Badgley videos. Didn’t realize he had a podcast. The chemistry between he and the other hosts is phenomenal, and their conversation is a wonderful mix of light hearted and poignant. The questions they ask their guests and the answers they elicit are the true strength. Different from many podcasts they stick solely to sugar level topics. The Ariana Grande episodes are must listen for all

    Amazing
clicked for Penn, stayed for Nava, Sophie, the amazing conversations and how obviously kind and good-hearted all three hosts are! I love the genuine conversations and the moments when everybody breaks out into laughter. They have a good time, I have a good time. I also appreciate them making people that seem out of reach seem so unbelievably human and approachable. All in all, great podcast!

    Hosts
I absolutely love the host episodes! The interviews are really great too, but I love when I get to hear the back and forth between the hosts + everyone’s got really great to listen to pod voices.

    Flow of conversation stilted
I stopped listening because one of the girls annoyingly ALWAYS says the person’s name before asking a question as if to get them to pay attention. Completely aggregating. I understand both girls come from education where they probably had to do it all the time but I hope they drop that awful habit. Behaviors like that completely do not translate to a podcast and turns me off from the listen experience. Let Penn talk more and ask more questions!

    ughhhhhhh
Who the frick is Penn Badgley and why is he constantly advertising his sad, dumb podcast in all my favorite comedy podcasts? No matter how many times he says "Hey lets talk about cringey memories!", I'm not going to download and listen to this podcast. It sounds like such an enormous waste of time.

    Alpha male garbage guests
Matt rife? Really? The man who wears the world’s least convincing “I’m a good guy” disguise while making racist, ablelist, domestic violence-promoting jokes? What a tone deaf garbage fire this show has become.
  • OMGJUNGLEBOOK
Take down the Matt Rife Podcast
I absolutely love this podcast but please please please do not support Matt Rife. His newest special opens with a joke about domestic violence. Please take that episode down

    Downgraded
This podcast was good as I listened from the beginning but as it went on and on it just got boring. The guests are really what make it or when Penns promoting “You” but if more popular guests were to come on it would be more popular but there’s a lot of random guests I’ve never heard of it and it just makes me skip it. Might give it another try if better guests come aboard but for now I think I’m going to skip out on this.

    Entertaining and meaningful
This podcast is so great to listen to when you want to get to know people on more than a superficial level. It strikes the perfect chord between entertainment and meaningful conversations! Love the mix of guests, depth of questions asked and chemistry of the hosts! Highly recommend! ❤️

    Giggling
I listened for the first time to this podcast with the Rob Lowe interview. He’s pretty fascinating but the women in this podcast were giggling so often it took away from the interview. I’m sure I’d giggle too if Rob Lowe were in my presence but I’m not doing a podcast. I’ll give them another try and update my review if this was just a one off.

    Love this podcast
This podcast is so refreshing. It’s taken me back to my middle school years and helped me reconcile things from that period of my life. Who knew a podcast could do such a thing?!?Its lighthearted, it’s fun, it’s deep, it’s thought provoking. It’s all the things. So glad I found it.

    We NEED Jay Shetty
I’ve been listening a few months and I really enjoy the three of you and your banter. I can’t imagine anyone I’d love to hear you all interview more than Jay Shetty. I think it would be interesting to hear what he was like and what his life was like in middle school. It would also be interesting to hear Penn & Jay discuss anything about spirituality 💛

    Heartwarming and funny
I love Penn from Gossip Girl and also the show, You, but I had no idea how funny and he is. The chemistry among the hosts and how warm and kind they are with every guest is so great.

    The OC soundtrack
Duuuude! First off, love y’all. Chemistry is killer and this quickly became my fave podcast. Ok secondly, SOPHIE. Theocsoundtrack.com is the reason my music taste became so good and evolved into such a broad spectrum that exists to this day! I learned Orange Sky on guitar at 15 (it’s like two chords Nava I think you could pick it up.) and it was so hipster emo. I know you get it. Love y’all.

Re: Great Podcast but a few Tweaks
I generally love this Podcast and am not a frequent Podcast listener, but I mostly enjoy Penn and the guest. The other two ladies are nice, but I find their portions intrusive and a diversion. Also, you all use the word “iconic” way too much. Please avoid using that word.

    Disappointed
Sigh…the recent guest Alok is a poetic evangelist for an ideology that seeks to eliminate women and girls as a protected sex class. Like all gender ideologues steeped in Queer Theory, the goal is to dismantle the “oppressive” and “heteronormative” categories of male and female. His social media content is overflowing with hyper-ideological postmodern queer Theory presented as if it were the ultimate Truth. The world of queer Theory is vast and incoherent, purposefully designed to create chaos (by obfuscating language) and disrupt “binaries” it considers to be evil i.e., male/female, adult/child etc. But if you follow that logic to the very end there is only one question left: how can you protect women and girls as a sex class if the definition of “women” and “girls” is not based in material reality? Answer: you can’t. The problem is not about being gender non-conforming. Most of us, by definition, are gender non-conforming. I don’t care if a man wants to wear a dress and mimic the most superficial and exaggerated stereotypes of femininity- I don’t care if he uses made up pronouns or descriptors born of his particular belief system. I’m concerned about a coercive ideology that, even when encased in pretty language with a social justice flair, seeks to erode critical protections and boundaries around women and children. Sex is real. It’s not a “weapon of mass destruction” (eye roll) to be concerned with the real-life implications of an ideology determined to erase sex-based rights. I guess it’s hard for people to believe that someone who says the word “love” a lot could be ensnaring people into such a distorted ideology. The guest is articulate, charismatic, and gifted at using deep spiritual truths mixed with social justice jargon to distract from and deceptively reframe the very serious issues at hand.

    Incredible Podcast
I typically have a hard time finding podcasts that keep me engaged, but Podcrushed does it effortlessly. I have laughed and cried so many times while listening to this podcast. The energy and dynamics the group has alone, as well as with all their guests, is palpable. Highly recommend if you want a truly feel-good podcast.

    Love Podcrushed
I’m relatively new to pod-listening, but this program drew me in. First, because of Penn, who I’m totally enamored with. But as I listen, and became familiar with the content and format, as well as the hosts, I found it to be a genuine pleasure. It'S actually therapeutic tor me to listen to your guests relaying their experiences. I find I've sometimes blocked traumatic memories from my mind. Hearing the stories of others, especially the uncomfortable ones, somehow helps me remember things long suppressed..I had a difficult childhood, (deserted by mother; alcoholic father) but only in the last few years have I been able to reconcile some feelings and gain insight. Your podcast has frequently been a catalyst in that reconciliation.

    Love
I love this podcast! I love randomly bursting out in tears of joy from the hosts and questions! The way Nava and Sophie make fun of Penn all the time is hilarious. The random stories and tangents they go on so crazy! Feels awesome to listen to as a 13 yr old girl. I relate to almost all these stories and like the advice they give at the end. Thanks for this pod its amazing ❤️

*SNL Stefon voice* It has it all…
Funny middle school stories, addressing social forces, “You” references, making fun of Penn Badgley, exploring spiritual truths. All this can be found in *silly Bill Hader voice* PODCRUSHED. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it, and I bet you will too.

    Every episode is amazing
The 3 hosts do an amazing job interviewing their guests while also sharing anecdotes and insights of their own. They all bring a little something different to the show and complement each other really well. Every episode is heart-warming and funny, and often sad-but-in-a-good-way. They talk about real things, not just fluff . I love Podcrushed.

    worth a try!
Such a good podcast! I think they cover topics from youth with a great balance of humor and serious insight. The show does cover religion (particularly their religion) more than I’d expected based on the topics & advertising of the podcast itself, so that’s not my favorite. In the Tilly Keeper episode, one of them even said they “judge” people who are atheist/agnostic. Before that, I felt they were very open minded and nonjudgmental, but this was disappointing to hear and definitely makes me wonder how many more religious chats between the three of them that I’ll have to skip through.

    Great Job!
The episode with Ed Speleers was AWESOME! I love him as an actor and his is certainly one of my favorites! I’m so proud of his most recent role in Star Trek: Picard Season Three streaming on Paramount Plus, it literally made me cry at the last episode! It’s a series you have got to watch! I can very much relate to his story in Picard! And I just got the movie Eargon which features him as the main character! I can’t wait to watch and I also got the book too! Mr. Speleers is a very talented actor! Good job Ed Spellers! I hope someday you will get to read this comment lol! 🤣And yes I know how to properly pronounce your last name!

Hi friends! I have been totally crushing on this podcast! I truly enjoy listening to you all and your amazing guests. Absolutely love this show!
As a 39-year-old who enjoys working with youth, because it's healing, I thoroughly enjoy listening to this show! Too many people say get over your childhood and forget how much it shapes you. I am currently listening to the Sophia Bush episode and realizing how much I relate to her! She's fantastic, and I saw she got married recently in my state!

    I’m a podcrusher! I love this podcast
The podcast is amazing and laugh at loud funny. I want to listen to this with my junior high schooler. Penn is great! I love how he listens and don’t talk over their guests like most podcasters do. This podcast is so sweet, and smart and funny! It’s now my favorite! Thank you all for your honestly!

    Still growing
I know this is a relatively newer podcast, but it’s gotten difficult to want to stay tuned. Podcast indicates they update weekly, but that’s not exactly true as they do a lot of reruns. I would almost rather not be expecting new content on a certain day and the podcast be categorized as random. The majority of the guests are from shows Penn was on and was hoping they would bring on other people as they have constantly run out of people to interview I think. The girls are sweet, but the “I just want to ask” “I guess I was just wondering” got old. These are interviews and it just seems like they’re shy or unprepared. Got excited to tune in again after hearing the girls on Scam Goddess and came back to, yet another… rerun in my downloads. Good luck to them though!! It’s a sweet idea.

    Complaint about reruns
C’mon now if we wanted to hear reruns we can easily go back to your other episodes. If you’re not gonna post a new episode why tease us thinking a new one is up but it’s actually just a RERUN 🤦🏻‍♀️

I want them to succeed but also…
I feel like these three are my best friends! I love how each episode feels so intimate and like you’re allowed in the room no matter how different you are (if that makes sense) I want them to succeed but also want hold tight to these moments they’re still small and growing! It’s like my podcast hidden gem I want to keep all to myself!

    more Joe Goldberg
This needs more Joe Goldberg energy and less awkward quirks from everyone. The banter is mostly underwhelming and seems uninspired and, not even funny guys. Sorry.

I happened to stumble upon this podcast while browsing for something new to listen to and I downloaded a few episodes with guests I like to test the waters. Now subscribed! It’s refreshing to hear everyone open up about some vulnerable experiences they’ve gone through and in a beautiful story telling way. It’s lighthearted and good vibes!
