Being chronically ill means you have the best seat on the perpetual struggle bus. Thanks to the very sexy diagnosis of end-stage kidney disease I was always missing out: on my dream writing career, finding love (bah humbug, but one can hope…right?)…even literally missing my daily train to get to work because I’d trip and fall on my cane. Classic Jane: basketcase. But thanks to a black-market kidney donation giving me mysterious powers, the tables have turned. Now I get drinks on the house, dates whenever I want them, writing opportunities that actually pay the bills… for the first time, people take me seriously. Because I make them. The downside? (There always is one.) Keeping the truth hidden. Fun, funny, good production, not like the rest!

I love this because it is a bit like watching Oceans 8 and Charmed and … a dash of House MD (cane sounds, transplants) and I’m not sure what else but I realize I need to find more audio fictions like this! Too many role playing dice rolling story lines, and gory - descriptively gory crime shows. And I think I’ve heard 90% of the ones that aren’t that. So far I’ve found less than 15 with this upbeat vibe this across channels. The BBC makes most of them and Audible. So, I’m glad to find this. The cover image threw me off and I kept skipping over it. But, I’m glad I didn’t. The soundscape is great. Whoever did the audio production, is spot on. 🤩

Very enjoyable listen

Really enjoyed this realm contribution, including the centering of a disabled protagonist, and the outstanding voice acting by all. I found myself wanting a little more from the finale, but that’s a small complaint. I hope it returns for a second season.

Interesting story

First most - I absolutely love the actress and so would probably love anything she does - Orphan Black was awesome. This, of course, is a very different story but I found it quite enjoyable. The main character can be liked and disliked in the same episode. I enjoyed it.

Interesting, BUT Stop the Unrelated Promos Please

I found this show interesting and it help me on the edge of my seat. Based on the show itself, I would give it 4-5 stars. BUT, I had subscribed to many Realm podcasts, and I do not enjoy that they run preview episodes for new shows constantly on all of their shows, regardless of if they are even from a similar genre or type of story. If they were similar genre’s and types of stories, I would not mind. I would love to hear about a story that is similar to a shoe I like already. I do not want the same episode popping up multiple times in my podcast feed, especially when it’s a completely different type of story. This unfortunately has earned an unsubscribe across all the Realm podcasts I subscribe to after getting tired of this happening every week.

quite good

I am a huge fan of podcasts. This one falls into the top half (above average) category in my list. The story is a fun setup for *hopefully* future seasons that will expand on the characters further. This season served as a good introduction to a larger story. The most striking part of the series is the voice acting of Tatiana. Yes, she has been a talented actress. But I don’t think I realized just how great she is with her voice alone. She makes for a wonderful narrator, and she is able to convey her character’s thinking/feeling through very slight - but clear - variations in her delivery. It all comes across very naturally.

Almost a Perfect Pod-Story

I really wish that a story which starts strong & promises so much with these likable characters would actually give the audience what they deserve..MORE!! If there is going to be a season 2, then maybe let us know. If the last ep. I listened to was a wrap- then please indicate ‘The End’. I feel a bit ripped off. *HOWEVER, I feel that way because I loved the story, the voice acting & overall sound of this podcast story. Jane is the best kind of disaster - she’s relatable. *I get that Maslany is very talented (didn’t get a chance to check out Orphan Black) but I must admit that I didn’t need to hear her résumé to be pulled into listening to Power Trip. Announcing that she is “the star” is a cringy way to describe oneself. I enjoyed EVERYONE’S contribution of their talent in this story. Each voice actor did a fantastic job & the writing by Mary Hamilton & Cara Horner was great. Realm is a favorite of mine. I 🖤 stories like this that give us a break from all of the the apocalyptic & dystopian themes that seem to be in every other pod-story. The narrative in Power Trip is a perfect example that we don’t need the end of the world (or the aftermath) to be entertained.

Tatiana…drink your own Kool-Aid much?

Live for and support all the arts, but it’s exhausting listening to insufferable artists who feel they need to remind you of what they’ve “accomplished.” Pitching for a podcast you’re involved with by mentioning your bona fides is fine, but referring to yourself as “the star of”…is gross.

I love how Tatiana plays the character: Jane is easy to love and also very easy to hate. I can’t say I wouldn’t do the exact same thing if I had powers like that lol! I also love the music choice on this project.

This podcast doesn’t equal the depths of Maslany’s talent. But as a huge fan I will listen and support this project. As one who screamed when she won her unexpected but well deserved Emmy, I will always be waiting for another season of the Orphan Black podcast😍

Power Trip is amazing!!

The story itself is very interesting so far. After listening to episode 3, I was a bit disappointed with how we didn’t get to learn more about how the other characters have powers. However, I know the podcast is fairly new and is only building up to a larger plot that maybe we don’t know about. I have always loved Tatiana Maslany’s work and this podcast really highlights her talent as a voice actress. She brings so much life and conflict to the character Jane. I’m really looking forward to the next episode!

Easy, Fun Listen

I binged this in a day and was disappointed it ended right when I felt it was hitting its stride. It brought out quite a few laughs and had a fun plot. Plus, the characters were endearing and really well acted.

I absolutely love Tatiana Maslany! Especially from Orphan Black the TV show to Orphan Black the Next Chapter! So obviously I had to follow and listen to Power Trip and I have not been disappointed! It’s an amazing storyline and I just love everything about it, I wish I could give it more stars!

The show is great! It’s a wonderful blend of humor, fun, and some seriousness. The show feels realistic and is so vividly described. The portrayal of NYC is accurate, unlike many other fictional podcasts or stories I have listened to. Tatiana Maslany is a perfect narrator!!!

Way different than anything I’ve listened to lately, and that’s a good thing. True, i was always going to listen to it (see above), but the storytelling definitely kept me excited for the next episode. I’m hoping that we get more than just this season.

Tatiana Maslany has one of those “could listen to her read the phone book” voices for me, but lucky for us we get her acting in a full cast with a rollicking rock theme and immersive sound design. This one is a trip, one of my fave fiction shows I’ve heard this year

Really enjoyed the cast and would love more storylines I think you guys could take this cast, with their powers, and do so much with it. I know Realm doesn’t usually come out with various seasons but I think you should make this one of the few shows that you keep around. Thanks!! Ohh and by the way I am soooo thankful for all of the Realm podcasts!! I am never disappointed and always excited to see a new Realm production release. Keep doing what you do, bravo!
