Anche88Let’s All Obsess Over the 30sGreat show for those that love to indulge and take a trip down to Hercule-land. So much love for all the fascinating characters. We don’t agree on every review with these two, but what’s better than a podcast that has you saying things like “damned offensive” and “I say” out loud to the hosts?! It’s basically a third way to experience each story after reading it and watching the show. 👌

Terri BarnesMagnifique! The perfect podcast for this fan of Agatha Christie and David Suchet’s Hercule Poirot. I’m so pleased to discover Adam and Frankie and the community of fellow Poirot enthusiasts they’ve attracted with their clever program. (BTW, Frankie is right about the ersatz Poirot who shall not be named …)

Grace Elephante.Perfect for the Little Grey CellsAs a fellow Poirot kid, I feel so seen by Frankie and Adam! Their chemistry is such a highlight and I often find myself laughing out loud. I only wish I had found it sooner.

trillionshelperEdit edit editThe should would be great f t was edited and half the show removed —-all the jokey chitchat between the hosts that has nothing to do with the subject is not just a waste of listener’s time but boring . They think they are cute and funny. Not. But a serious podcast on Poirot would be great.

CaliforniaDreamin’A Comforting Balm in Uncertain Times! To say that I love this podcast (et Poirot, bien-sûr!) would be an understatement. The Labours of Hercule is more than a pod - it’s a community! Frankie and Adam are delightful to listen to: fun, witty, and genuine in their love and respect for Christie’s work and David Suchet’s undisputed genius. One of the many things I treasure *most* about Frankie and Adam’s approach to this grand-œuvre is their unflinching (and humorous) honesty about the aspects of Christie’s work (and its ITV dramatisation) which are historically problematic, i.e., “d@mned offensive”. Frankie and Adam don’t shy away from these weaknesses in Christie’s work, but instead place the proper context around those weaknesses by explaining the history of the casual racism, xenophobia, internalized sexism, classism, etc.; and they respectfully celebrate the brilliance of Christie without letting her off the hook. In this way, Frankie and Adam act as trusted guides for us listeners around the world - young and old-, as we, too, look for ways to hold onto the enduring brilliance of Christie, whilst also holding her to account. Frankie and Adam allow us to hold two truths together at the same time: we can love Christie’s brilliant work while also recognizing how it could be better. All that to say, thank you, Frankie and Adam, for creating a community where we can ALL enjoy Christie’s work in a space that is safe for and includes everyone. Keep going! We love you.

Friday Girl 714Lovely!Updated review: after my initial love for this podcast and some very high hopes, later episodes left me sadly disappointed. I kept following the show though, and after some time away I gave it another try. While the hosts still keep it fun, there’s far less/none of what kept me and others from enjoying it before and it is just pure loveliness start to finish. I particularly enjoyed the episode on “The Chocolate Box” and the quiz in another on Poirot’s foreign titles. Very much enjoying this show again (and recommending it!). Thank you Adam and Frankie for your efforts. (Original review) I had high hopes for this one and enjoyed a few episodes enough to recommend it to several others. Unfortunately, as another reviewer has mentioned, there are far too many political remarks. I don’t listen to a Poirot-focused show to hear the podcasters political opinions and this has become “d-ed offensive” as it’s thrown in too often. I could also do without Frankie’s constant, and extensive, remarks about her “desires” for the characters. Disappointing as this has such promise and Frankie and Adam are otherwise a delight to listen to. Giving it another shot in the hopes they’ll focus things more consistently on the episodes.

Miss DeportmentAdieu Mon AmisSo sorry to see such a lovely and enjoyable podcast ruined by unnecessary political stereotyping. It’s d@mned offensive.

Drlisah2002Love this!!I can’t believe I am so late to the podcast but here I am listening from Japan. There are many Agatha Christie fans here! I watched all of the Poirot episodes in 2922-2023. So glad to revisit with you both…. So charming and funny. Highly recommend!

Sjma99999Poirot podcast perfectionAdam and Frankie joyously, wittily, punningly and quizzingly share their love of Agatha Christie’s Poirot from episode 1 to the final Curtain. It’s the place to be for fun banter, episode recaps, interesting facts, and stupendous guest stars all wrapped up with true devotion to the beloved series and stars. To miss even a single episode would be dammed offensive.

skunkangelYes.This is the podcast you’ve been waiting for. It has everything you need. The laughs, the crys, the memes, the hot takes, the juicy goss. It’s got Japp of the yard, twist of Lemon, Good Lord, Damned Offensive, and of course,POIROT DOES NOT POP. David and Nancy really hit it out of the park with this one. Ten out of ten.

RDHC2018Lights Up My Little Grey CellsLike many of your listeners, I got into Agatha Christie’s books and the David Suchet version of Poirot from a young age. I used to watch the show haphazardly in whatever order and channel I could find them. Then 2 yrs ago, I got Britbox and started to re-watch the show. But it wasn’t until I discovered this podcast that I was motivated to pay attention to the details Frankie and Adam cover on the show. They do such a wonderful job highlighting things I had never considered important. Their wit, humor and all the puns make this such a fun show, especially as comfort during trying times. I go for walks and just get lost in each episode. I have now caught up on all the episodes (found y’all in October) and I’m impatiently waiting for more. Keep up the amazing work! I know it’s not your Full time job, so I really admire your dedication and tenacity to keep going, only getting better with each episode.

Thixon1Good lord!Bonjour mes amis! I am sorry to say that I am late to the Victory Ball, having only recently discovered this wonderful podcast. What a joy to find my people - others like me for whom Poirot is the ultimate comfort tv. Adam and Frankie are wonderful hosts, taking you through each episode with enthusiasm, humor and never ever being dirty swine. I’ve started with episode 1 and am slowly working my way forward but savoring each episode as I go. I just finished Wasp’s Nest and had to go out for a walk in the sunshine to shake the gloom off after the sad ending. Keep up the good work and I’ll keep listening and trying not to be damned offensive (which I use in conversation all the time now🤣🤣).

InterplanetaryCraftThis is the best podcast!Thank you Frankie and Adam for putting together this great podcast. I am enjoying every episode and dreading its finale. However, I am looking forward to Podathan Creek! And since that show only has a small number of episodes I’d like to make a few suggestions for a third podcast: 1. Rosemary

TigerLawyerMagnifique! This podcast is as bingeworthy as the show and I am so enjoying Frankie and Adam's intelligent, witty, banter which provided me with a new reason to go back and rewatch the entire series from first to last with new attention and appreciation and with a deep delight that there are others in the world as Poirot-obsessed as I was raised and as I am raising my boys! 10/10 - cannot recommend this podcast highly enough. This is must-listen for any Poirot fan!
-
Lauren_chimchimThanks for such a fun listen!Listener from West Virginia, USA. Aside from my mom, there isn’t really anyone around here to watch and discuss Poirot with. I stumbled upon your podcast today and I love it! I am glad that you guys break down the episodes with humor and (sometimes) naughtiness. Can’t wait to work my way through the back log of episodes! PS: I adore your accents 😊

H. CoffeyMon Dieu!I grew up thoroughly obsessed with the writings of Agatha Christie and her brilliant detectives. And this podcast is perfection for such a lifelong nerd. Thank you so much for it’s creation and please do continue!

MichelleN2000FantasticI’ve been a Agatha Christie fan for many years. This podcast is one I didn’t know I needed. It’s fantastic. Love Frankie and Adam. They make it so fun to rewatch Poirot. Love getting to put my little grey cells to work. Thank you both so much!
-
Badger506FantasticI absolutely love your podcast, it’s a delicious oasis in a very long dry search for quality podcasts . I join in , when I can …with a smile and expectation like a child expecting a surprise You both dissect and describe each episode..as if we were all fortunate enough to participate in the episode along with you and the characters. Your attention to detail and articulation of the story are a true homage to old time radio classics. I can listen on the road without the benefit of video and still enjoy your program. I doubt I will ever catch up with your pod cast schedule vs what I can view but wanted you to know how very much I enjoy your show. You should be getting a kick back from BRIT BOX as you are the sole reason for my subscription. Your chemistry together is fantastic, the descriptions, observations and candid humor of the content make the listener feel we are right alongside side with you both. I have picked up some choice phrases that otherwise I would have not had the pleasure of uttering at others, ha,ha.. I wish you much continued successes and hope to see some merchandise as I would gladly purchase it to support your projects. Respectfully and gratitude. J.M. Florida USA

-
FantasyhillJolly goodSuch a jolly pair of friends to take us on a journey with “Papa” Poirot. Adam and Frankie are so amicable and their love and knowledge of Poirot is infectious.
-
TrebleTrouble115Magnifique!One of my favorite podcasts. (To say otherwise would be "damned offensive.") Adam and Frankie take the listener on an entertaining and informative romp through each Poirot episode (as of today they're up to "The Plymouth Express"). There are also a few special episodes with guest stars, most notably Captain Hastings himself, Hugh Fraser. A must-listen for any Christie fan.
-
PurpleOctober72Superb!Huge David Suchet as Poirot fan and have watched the series hundreds of times since it came out (my poor son, now an adult, can recite each episode I’m sure). I have been waiting for this podcast and thoroughly enjoy it! Looking forward to all upcoming episodes!
-
ParisbebeDelightful podcastI was so excited to hear about this podcast, and now that I’ve finally settled down to listen to the entire episode, the hosts definitely deliver. Clearly, they love David Suchet as much as the listeners. How did they get rights to the audio clips? I don’t know, but bravo! The hosts have utterly charming banter between the audio clips of Poirot.
-
Jason DeFillippoMy little grey cells they tingle! My newest treat is to download the latest episode, sit on the couch with my hounds, watch the episode of Poirot and immediately press play on the podcast. I absolutely adore this show! A deal at twice the price…
