Cowboy Life

Wilderness #138

Legendary cowpuncher Tom Moorhouse shares his experiences growing up and working on ranches throughout West Texas. His cowboy stories describe life on the wagon, his family’s ranching legacy, dealing with drought and the beginnings of ranch rodeo. He also details how the respected Great Basin horseman Ray Hunt introduced better training practices to old school Texas cowboys, and how that has improved horsemanship on today’s ranches.

    Auroes ranch question.
I listened to a very fascinating episode with Ed Ashurst. He mentioned a lot of ranches and at the end you asked him if he were 18 which ranch would he work for and he said Auroes. I’ve looked a number of times to inquire about getting hired without finding the ranch. Auroes populates aurora on google and even spell check. I was hoping I could gain your attention and get a link to the website. Keep up the amazing interviews. The stories are awesome and I love how it pulls me into another world in my imagination. -D’Qota Tomerlin

I stumbled across the podcast yesterday. I have already binged all 4 episodes. These men are living legends in my mind. Ross, I beg you to keep this going. I also beg you not to change a thing. The interview questions you ask are simple, but perfect. Great work sir!!

    The BEST
My wishes have come true. I’ve wanted to hear a podcast exactly like this. The first two episodes are the exact same two men who I most wanted to hear their stories. For those of us who live the western way of life and hold these cowboys in high regard it doesn’t get any better.
