Your guide brought you to altitude to quickly
It’s not surprising that your trekking partner suffered from altitude mountain sickness, considering how quickly you ascended. Recommendations are to go no more than 300 meters per day with a rest day every thousand meters. Also it’s recommended to spend three nights in Namche Bazaar. Most trekking companies don’t adhere to those recommendations which accounts for many cases of altitude sickness that could be avoided.

    Spectacular
This is hands down one of the best audio productions I've ever listened to. So beautifully immersive and perfectly narrated, and the choice of sound tracks is sheer perfection. I have an overly active mind and I need daily escapes to quiet down and recenter. This podcast was nothing short of therapeutic!

    FAVOURITE PODCAST!
JOURNEY has been such a delight to listen to! It is made with excellence. As in the description it truly is an immersive experience. Ryan combines audio from his hike including narration and the sounds of nature and combines it with his great story telling. I look forward to the new episode each week. I will be so sad when the season concludes. If you like Ryan’s narrating and story telling you will love his other podcasts! Check out Guilt. It is also phenomenally made.

    This. Is. Beautiful.
I LOVE reading books about Everest and other climbing stories, but this takes it to another level. I feel like I am on the journey too, which is what I like about reading these adventures. Here, though, you get the sounds and the commentary recorded as it actually happened. It immediately shot to my number one podcast and I will be sad when it ends. Absolutely transports me. I love it thoroughly.

    Beautifully done!
I honestly have absolutely no desire to climb Everest, but I truly LOVE hearing and reading the stories about those courageous enough to do it (though, I am definitely into the idea of visiting Nepal!). I am currently reading ‘Into Thin Air,’ so it’s fun to be able to experience the journey up Everest with some actual sound—it’s taken reading Krakauer’s book to a whole different level. This podcast is beautifully produced and the host paints a vivid picture of the whole experience ascending the mountain with his words. It’s riveting and, yet, somehow relaxing (so far!).

    Best storyteller, ever!
As someone who is training for that trek currently, I am so happy to have stumbled upon this podcast. It is one of the most engaging podcasts I have ever heard, and the storytelling and sensory detail is stellar. Can’t wait to hear more!

    Dreaming from Florida
The descriptive tales of this Everest Journey, allows me to follow my dreams from right here in my tiny dog grooming shop in the Florida panhandle. The sounds of the city and the people pull you in, as if you’re walking this journey with the narrator. Absolutely mesmerizing
