Per My Last Email

Was that email rude? Does my boss hate me? Is this place toxic…or is it me? Work raises a lot of questions—and too many of them get stuck in our heads, rattling around until we feel overwhelmed and unqualified. No more. Join leadership coaches Jen Dionisio and Sara Wachter-Boettcher as they tackle the topics that come up over and over again with their clients: confusing performance reviews, dysfunctional project teams, and bosses with way too few boundaries. You’ll hear stories from real people struggling with the same stuff you are—like how to say “no” to a new project, or why it’s so hard to speak up in meetings. Because it’s not all in your head: work gets weird. We’ll help you get through it—no passive-aggressive emails required.

    Great insight
I was recently laid off on my job and happened to stumble across this podcast. The two episodes I’ve discovered that deal with layoffs actually had some extremely helpful advice. I look forward to deep diving into the rest of these episodes. Thank you!

    Hits so close to home
As someone who’s led content, design, research, analytics and other creative teams over the last decade, the topics that hosts Sarah and Jen discuss and provide guidance on are so familiar to me. Two episodes in, I’ve learned new ways to approach some of the challenges my team might have and be afraid to tackle or discuss just yet. The advice is spot on. It’s unfortunate that these topics are so familiar and feel so real, but I’m glad Sarah and Jen are sharing their knowledge so we can all work to make the workplace work better for everyone. Did I fit “work” into the last sentence enough times? Anywho, give this a listen if you’re in need of some advice, regardless of your experience level. I promise you’ll find something that resonates.

Love! Great approach (coaching and asking questions vs. giving straight advice)
Loving this podcast so far. It’s a vastly different way of handling listener questions. I love that the hosts take their coaching knowledge and basically give a mini coaching session we can all benefit from. They tell what kinds of questions to ask if you find yourself in tricky work situations. And they also give SO MUCH empathy to the listeners who write in with questions. I’ve honestly never heard anything like it. Even the first ep on negative performance reviews — which I couldn’t related to outright — had great gems in for me. Give it a listen!

    Great coaching
I listened to the first episode, and it was very thoughtful. I can’t wait for more episodes for my myself and also to share with others who may be navigating tough work situations.

Finally, the career advice I’ve been looking for.
So grateful for answers to the questions I didn’t know how, or who, to ask. One episode in and I’m sure this is the best career podcast of 2023.
