abk186Trevor learn to listenGreat guests but Trevor speaks over everyone

Jonathan HB.Rename this podcast to “Debate with Christina” or “Interrupted by Christina”(Response to conversation with Scott Galloway) They need to remove Christina from these types of podcasts with guest tbh. I think she gives good perspectives when it comes to the black/female experience and she’s good when it’s just Trevor, her, and Josh. But she’s a really bad host with a habit of interrupting Trevor and his guests to make her point when they are talking. This is Trevor Noah’s podcast and Scott is the guest, so why am I listening to her talk almost half the time. Not only does it feel like she didn’t even do research on the guest but it also feels like she’s pushing back on every statement the guest is making. Just get your own podcast and debate on there and let people who’s interested in her perspective listen there … but it’s so frustrating when it feels like she’s trying to take over a conversation and nitpick on everything that’s said because it kills the dialogue and conversation when the points she’s making is irrelevant and off-topic

NM-AZ-MAMy mannaThis podcast is manna for my mind and soul! Thanks for not making me wander in the wilderness of our current world alone. I can’t emphasize enough how much I appreciate and enjoy every episode. My brain craves the intellectual stimulation.

russelldollIntelligent and interestingI love the free association conversations

SandezzyFinally….Trevor and his team take the time to review each guest, ask interesting questions, but most importantly, they never talk over a guest, you can actually hear the responses of the speaker without interruption. That is an extremely rare characteristic. I am grateful and of course love the teams banter, humour and wit. They have a good time and so do we. Great podcast highly recommend

cindyd.01My favorite podcastA terrific podcast duo with genuine curiosity about why humans act like they do. With Trevor's unending charm, humor and ultimately, kindness.

libbyv55LoveI love this show! The interviews go deep and I appreciate the obvious preparation they put into them.

Bah humbug 28Invaluable convosSuch an enlightening podcast for the diaspora. I adore Christiana & Josh and all of the guests are interesting because the host is interested. Also, love the thought experiments.

S. GeoSo entertaining !Love this show and especially like listening without sponsorship interruptions. THANK YOU !

Loli DoulaPostpartumThank you for talking about postpartum! I'm a postpartum doula and a grandma in the US. I get to support mom's in the postpartum period by cooking, doing laundry, listening to mom, caring for baby and teaching newborn care techniques. This is a practice that is catching on in the US and is learning from traditional cultures who care for families so well.
-
hollyhealthcoachThank youI very much appreciate the variety of guests and perspectives that are brought to the show, as well as being a model for how we should be having conversations in our own lives and communities. I really loved this recent episode after Christiana had her third child…if we want to change the world for good, it starts with supporting moms (and dads). Thank you!
-
Niobe_WLove the ShowGreat conversations! I wish Christiana would temper her habit of impulsively cutting off Trevor and guests mid-sentence when she disagrees with what they’re saying. I would love for them to be able to finish their point before she interjects with her point of view. I think Christiana is brilliant, but I hope she works on waiting her turn to speak.
-
BooneLadyMissing Josh!I am sure I’m not alone when I say that I really miss Josh on the hosting team. I love Trevor & Christiana, of course! But Josh brought a humor and a fresh perspective that is sorely missed. I imagine that he is so busy with his comedy success that he’s less available. But if it’s a production choice, please bring him back. And if Josh truly isn’t available, consider adding another comedian in the third cohost role. The podcast feels significantly heavier since Josh left the show.
-
M_A_Cross1997I’m sorry ChristinaI like Trevor and the guests. And Christina seems like she has a great personality, but she sort of derails every conversation and debate with anecdotal or off topic evidence. While she has lived experience, I just don’t think she has the formal experience to effectively contribute to these intellectual conversations.

KStratton1I look forward to ThursdaysBut one question about Khaya Dlanga, I want to buy his books but I don’t do ereaders, where can I buy his books in the US?
-
BerniebucksHorribleAwful comedian.

MooglitPhoenixGreat show!I’d consider Trevor a “thought leader”, he’s got a way of being vulnerable that invites the audience and whoever he is talking to, down the rabbit hole with him. My favorite episodes are when Trevor gets into conversation with his good friends, or chats about his history, and experiences…it’s such good vibes!
-
molleemoo26Excellent Relevant Episodes!Gosh, there are many episodes I love but the Second Act of Halle Barry episode really changed my life! I’m lucky to have women in my life that talk about this subject though this episode went into more detail. Thank you Trevor for doing what you’re doing and serving your purpose in life.
-
ElleirbagThanks for the intro, TrevorAlready loved Trevor, but the biggest treat of all was being introduced to Christiana and Josh and becoming huge fans of theirs!
-
CluttersharkAuthenticThis podcast is authentic. The views of Trevor and guests are enlightening to me. I could listen to Trevor talk all day long.
-
SHAKA_006Excellent PodcastTrevor present humor as well as serious topics and gives listeners the best of his talents. He has a great team and I love this podcast.
-
desiduousChristiana needs to be on less episodesLove this podcast - the substance and topics are usually very informative and interesting. Christiana, however, really takes away from the intellect. She claims to be an open-minded person, but all I ever seem to hear from her side are closed-minded arguments and opinions. I was really excited to see that Trevor had Michael Pollan on as a guest, but was disappointed in the episode as it seemed to be nothing more than trying to convince Christiana to get out of her myopic views on the topic, resulting in the listeners not getting very much from Michael himself. Please do more episodes without Christiana.

FuturaEducatorA weekly dose of HOPE and smart comedyFinally, someone as intelligent as Ruha Benjamin and the lovely hosts, discussing education deeply! We need to shift our attention towards kids and schooling! This podcast is GOLD. Trevor and Christiana bring on fascinating hosts and connect the dots with such grace.

jizzeyjBeautiful patterns of thinkingI am in love with the patterns of thinking in this podcast and grateful for a voice as Trevor Noah’s in my world. Hands down one of my favorite thinkers in this generation and of all time.🇹🇹
-
Shaharah LMore of this pleaseI always love the chemistry and intellectual conversations. I love it when my thinking is thoughtfully challenged by other people. More intelligent confabs like this! ❤️

ANOPHDDisappointedTrevor Noah is a figure I genuinely admire for his intelligence and insightful commentary. His ability to engage with complex topics is commendable. However, I feel that his podcast could benefit from a shift in focus. At times, it comes across as a less substantive approach that seems to cater to a broader audience's tastes, reminiscent of the style found in popular magazines. Given the rich tapestry of events happening in Africa, particularly in South Africa, it would be wonderful to see him delve deeper into these fascinating narratives. His platform holds the potential to shed light on important issues and stories from the African continent that often go unheard. I hope he recognize the significance of his voice for people of African descent and considers integrating more diverse topics and perspectives into his podcast. This could not only elevate the quality of the content but also engage listeners in meaningful discussions that resonate with a wider audience.

ZephyrZeroGood, but Christiana refuses to listenI am so vastly disappointed in listening to the episode where they sat down with Simon Sinek. I understand there will be differences of opinion, but her inability to listen, process, and actually understand was... disheartening, especially since it took away so much time from Trevor and Simon. Usually she doesn't seem that bad, but the desire just to always be fighting no matter what really takes a lot away from the show.
-
Mimi1293Great with a small potential tweakLove the podcast and always look forward to a release. You all have some great insights and bring incredible guests. The only issue I have is that I often feel like Christiana (sorry about spelling) is often cut off and tends to get immediate push back by the men. Let the woman finish her thought! I love what she has to say and more often than not, the men tend to agree with her when they repeat what she says a few times. Other than that, love the show!!

LupeezylemonsqueezyLearning and Growing EVERY DAYYYReally happy to have Trevor Noah’s poignant stances on a number of topics. I always find his position on things firm but open to growth perspective from others so it is awesome to have the guest that he’s curated provide additional input that’s not always singularly aligned with his own. It’s always great to feel like your mind and exposure is being expanded.

Momsterous1Don’t make Josh smoke!Love the show. Let Josh continue to “raw dog the world”. He’s perfect the way he is.
-
sanfranciscofanAmazing podcastI have listened to every single episode of the podcast and they are all amazing, even when I have no idea who the guest is. I have always been a fan of Trevor Noah’s comedy and the daily show but this is my favorite venture of his. I find him to be so smart, interesting, and worldly and his emotional intelligence is off the charts. I could listen to this podcast every day and I will be devastated when it comes to an end. Give it a listen, you won’t regret it.

allysoneorourkeThe cream of the crop don’t always go to the topThe episode with Simon discussing job satisfaction and job fit was fantastic! I did have to turn it off about 2/3 of the way in because Christiana’s hard line belief that work is only a paycheck and nothing more became too insensitive for me to continue to listen. I fully respect her viewpoint that community and social needs should be met with family and loved ones. However, she is failing to remember that not everyone has that available to them. Many people get some of those needs met through work. There’s nothing wrong with that. Also, it’s worth noting that many people get a strong sense of self-esteem from their work. There’s nothing wrong with that nor should anyone be judged for that. This is the first podcast I’ve listened to and I really hope that Christiana’s viewpoints aren’t all as rigid. Simon can you introduce me to some of those companies you spoke of… always looking for growth opportunities!
-
lggsquaredGreat PodcastI’ve followed Trevor since his show. The show was a bit bland at first, but I am now pleased with the show. The people provide thought provoking opinions and critical thinking. A great listen for sure!

BrokenChristianChristiana - Lightning RodI don’t listen to this podcast. I came across it randomly for new years and read the reviews. It was so bitterly divided that I wanted to see what people were talking about. I love Trevor Noah but the person that was truly at the center of the controversy was Christina and I don’t really know her. People were either upset she was interrupted so much or people didn’t like her interruptions. After listening first what I’ll say is that there feels like an overreaction going on here. Either side feels overblown. Second I wonder how many people are white or their culture is biasing their views. Maybe we just aren’t used to how African women converse and that interaction was normal? Either way I feel like Simon wasn’t deterred or angered and they ended on a really centered and balanced note. Especially with Trevor guiding the last part of the interview and conversation which is what a good host does. But Christina brings the spice and she doesn’t play it safe. That might be exactly why Trevor works with her. In the end what is a good “interview” or episode? Maybe they hit the target exactly how they wanted to and the contributors they have purposely chosen (just like the merry go round example). I think one or two times the dialogue was overlapping too much and was messy to follow. But I wonder what the Christina of 5, 10 years from now will sound like in that situation. I bet it still isn’t like Trevor and that’s a good thing.
-
tinydancercatStop interrupting the only womanFirst time listening to this podcast. Started with the Dec 19 episode with Simon Sinek. Super interesting conversation, and love that you all didn’t agree, but seriously stop interrupting the only woman’s voice. Do better
-
DianaSOpSimon Sinek episodeI enjoy the show in general but Christiana’s interventions are very disruptive. Instead of acting as a host and getting insights out of the guest by asking questions, she speaks loudly to get HER point across as an absolute truth and interrupts the guest speaker. I feel the show would have been a lot more valuable with a different format where the focus is on the guest speaker which is mainly who I pressed play for.
-
22Jacques22Love this podcast as a whole, but…Simon was CRINGE this entire episode!
-
SoLuGra108Simon SinekThe episode was excellent but you guys forgot to introduce the guest, and went right into the conversation. I had no idea who Simon Sinek was, had to rewind to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Later, I googled him. Please don’t just assume that everyone knows who everyone is.
-
Cookie firemanLove the show BT..You interrupted Christiana more than I could count. I don’t think it was on purpose but it was because she was a woman and it’s ok to do that to a woman. I find myself doing it. It’s deep in our culture. Listen to the episode and do a drinking game. Ha!
-
cbass67Good show, but…Love the show, but the co-host is a bit annoying - doesn’t really add anything good to the show
-
Marcell USATrevor is so talented, but…I listen to hear Trevor, but my soul hurts when I hear Christiana. The show would be so much better if she were replaced with any other female co-star or preferably just Trevor alone. She has a very one dimensional view of the world, and she is intolerant of other view points, it’s boring and slightly irritating. But Trevor, you were built for podcasts, it’s very impressive.
-
Ceylon EarWhy are all bosses idiots?Great insights from both Simon and Trevor. Christiana’s perspective is interesting and would have been more informative if she had a better way(through more context) of messaging her perspective to keep the listener engaged. However, I love these type of discussions as it enhances my knowledge and being open to different perspectives.
-
MixedRaceRiderWhy are all bosses idiots w/ Simon SinekThis, this, this, this!! Thank you so much for putting my thoughts, feelings, frustrations, and better practices in one podcast. The best episode, and honestly I feel every person and school kid should be required to listen to this episode. Thank you!!

CleoQuitoCristiana interrupts too much and is intransigent.Trevor has fresh ideas beautifully articulated and can gently make us question our own views through laughter and curiosity. However, having Cristiana’s constant interruptions and her inability to question her own views and beliefs make the show a disservice. It becomes irritating to listen to the show. I was very interested in listening to Simon Sinek and Trevor discuss ideas and world views but instead I had to listen to Cristiana interrupt incessantly and impose her views. Disappointing!
