    Great show
I love the show, but hoping season 2 can transition off of the conservative analysis soon. I appreciate it, but I think 2 episodes on that topic would have been fine, instead it’s been the whole second season thus far

    Episode 1 new season
I’m terribly disappointed that Justin Brierley decided to characterize Darryl Cooper as anti-semetic far right in this episode. I can only conclude that he’s never actually listened to Darryl Cooper. Darryl Cooper does a fantastic job of being empathetic to all sides of a story. His take on history encourages people to be introspective and consider their own participation in terrible events as well as to be repentant. Darryl Cooper’s Martyrmade podcast is what led me to Christianity. I would encourage Justin Brierley to actually talk with Darryl Cooper and or listen to the Martyrmade podcast before disparaging Darryl Cooper as he did in this episode.

    Refreshing and thought provoking!
This podcast is my current favorite (just finished episode 7). I find it fascinating. The host covers the stories of those disillusioned by secularism and atheism, those who have come to confess the human desire for purpose in life, those who could no longer deny the existence of the transcendent, and those who changed their mind about religion in general being harmful to society--acknowledging that when people give up one god, they'll make something else god (like politics, social justice, sex, feminism, or academics) and those gods are arguably proving to have a more harmful affect on society. If you're interested in critical thinking and stories, this podcast beautifully weaves them together. If you're feeling doubt, disillusionment, or curiosity, you'll likely find food for thought in this podcast. Bonus: bountiful British accents 😆

    Inspirational
Very inspiring being as I am optimistic and always have been; this is going to help the understanding of society being based on something good makes that society stronger and more cohesive.

    Absolutely enthralled
Fabulous mix of pragmatic, thoughtful and spiritual, I'm drinking it up like a cool drink of water on a hot, dry day

    Outstanding!
I first discovered this podcast while reading Justin's book of the same title, and I'm glad I did! Each episode is uniquely crafted to explore the renewed interest in God from various angles. I appreciate how it brings together different voices and perspectives while telling a compelling story. As a believer, this podcast has reminded me that there is more to Christianity than behavior or beliefs!

An outstanding show for the non, new, and already believers
I recently came upon this podcast as I was looking for an interview with one who just came to Christ, Molly Worthen. I have listened to season one over the last couple of weeks. What I find remarkable is the conversations are applicable to you wherever you are at this moment in your life. A believer is giving as much to think about and ponder as an agnostic or atheist. It is a first rate show with more than superficial conversations and each episode can stand on its own. I would urge you to give this show a couple of episodes and try it out. I do not believe you will be disappointed

    Patiently Intellectual
This podcast is excellent. In similar fashion to the hosts’ previous work, these episodes push curious intellectuals - both believers and those who are not yet sure. Worth your time!

Great series (1) concluded with episode 30 which was fantastic. This episode strengthened my faith and renewed my hope. Your concluding words were wonderfully encouraging and I will listen again to this episode and go back and listen to the ones I missed. Thank you Justin for your hard work and faithfulness.

    What an amazing podcast!
I’m so thankful for this podcast. It has been one of the highlights of my entire year. I’ve learned more from this than I thought possible and it has undoubtedly become an inspiration in moving me towards the passions I already had for Christian imagination formation through storytelling and poetry. I’m so thankful for that.

    Best new take on apologetics
This show is in touch, articulate, honest, respectful, compelling.
  • The S.K.P. Machine
    A Sad, Wasted Opportunity
This series started off strongly, but has become purposeless & meandering, taking lengthy tangents away from the central thesis into pseudoscience & drug use.

    Episode 29
In any faith reflection you can at a single point in time give your attention to the darkness and find things like sadness, regret, disappointment, shame, anger etc, or you can turn toward the light and find love, hope, grace, forgiveness, divineness. This episode chose the former. Worse yet it betrays a poor understanding of what is at stake in the US. Rather than being a binary choice between well-meaning democratic-leaning christians and what is incorrectly referred to as christian nationalism, it is a choice between good and evil. The powerful here are far worse than flawed charismatic leaders so there is no equivalency. The future freedom of all faith is at stake. This episode was severely misplaced.

The Most Beautifully Done Podcast I Have Ever Heard
This show is not only incredibly insightful and educational, it is just superbly well-produced. It is a masterful work of moving storytelling and a beautiful dive into the West’s slow realization that its heritage is necessarily Christian; that the values we hold dear are the effects of a Christian worldview. However, the show doesn’t tell the story in a self-righteous way; Justin truly allows you to follow real human stories of soul searching. It truly is beautiful and I cannot recommend it enough.

    Encouraged Artist and Professor
As a practicing artist and professor, conversations surrounding Christian Faith and its intellectual reliability are ever present. This podcast has given great grounding culturally, philosophically, and scientifically for the hope we have in Jesus. Thank you for the researched way you present your observations and conversations!

    Important work
This podcast series has strengthened my faith and brought me closer to God. Thank you to all who work to put this together.

Good for the world and good for me.
As a church planting pastor in the pre-Christian culture of Japan who is personally from the West I feel I get to see a society without Christian roots and also reflect on my home culture that has a Christian foundation. I also minister to people from pre-Christian, Christian, and post Christian contexts in the globalized city of Tokyo. This podcast helps me analyze my various contexts and the people in them. It is also a personal encouragement to me. I have recommended this podcast many times to people in conversation and want to do so digitally as well.

This is a terrific series, intelligent and nuanced, and I wrote that as a non Christian though someone much interested in these topics

    Pigeonholing
I like the show but would advise a more nuanced discussion of American politics which often seems to come up and the comments always seem to lean left. Classical Liberals, like myself, have become politically homeless as we’ve watched the Democrat Party lurch far left. Because of that many of us have taken another look at the Republican Party and are finding a much more welcoming environment where ideas can actually be discussed and not dictated. The constitution, rule of law and people of faith are more widely respected.

    Love this podcast so far!
I’m just discovering this podcast and am immensely enjoying it. I’m appreciating the strong intellectual approach along with the willingness to engage in and not have to completely understand the mystery of becoming what Jesus wants us to become. I am definitely not among the smartest or wisest of Christians—but I feel like this podcast really feeds my soul and my intellect in ways that I’ve been hoping for. It both challenges me and comforts me regularly. May God have mercy on us all and use us for His good purposes.

    Thoughtful and Compelling
One of the most thoughtful and compelling podcasts to date. The breadth and depth of the content is shared in an understandable way. I appreciate the work of Justin Brierley and others that go into producing this show. Thank you.

Fascinating episodes. This is basically Mythbusters for religion.

    Par excellence
A narrative, archival and accurate account of the clash between a seemingly waning 21st century Christianity with new atheism.

    Well done!
I’m late to the party, but I can’t stop listening! I’ve been a fan Justin’s Unbelievable podcast for years. This one takes it to a new level. The narrative is expertly woven together, the story utterly compelling, and the message deeply poignant. I cannot recommended this enough. Bravo!
  • Patti Tilton
    Excellent!
This podcast started great and keeps getting better. Many years of hosting conversations between Christians and skeptics not only made Justin well-suited to see the tide turning toward belief in God before the rest of us, it prepared him and his team to produce an outstanding, documentary style program that keeps me eager for each new episode to drop.

    Fascinating and inspiring podcast
I am so grateful to have found The surprising rebirth of faith in God podcast. The recent episodes with Tom Holland and Tammy Peterson were exceptional. Thank you for sharing the knowledge and perspective you have gained from years of doing interviews.

Powerful Hope & Truth arise in despondent days!
What’s a refreshing podcast a mid sarcastic voices everywhere, even in so-called Christian Erin knows! Thank goodness for a podcast that actually has the heart and voice of Jesus giving hope and truth to world that is so discouraged and running on fear! Our amazing church is even quoting from the book spoken of on Justin Brierley’sc show!

This Has Really Grown On Me!
I’m not generally into documentaries, so it took me some time to warm-up to this style of podcast. But wow, the content is AWESOME! The style has definitely grown on me, and I feel like I’ve learned a ton despite only being through about 9 episodes so far. Great work!!
  • HavenRev
Not surprising (that the episodes are superb)!
As with anything Justin is involved with, the content is presented clearly, charitably, and with his usual charm. There is not a more amiable host than this gentleman. Add to that world-class production and you have a first-rate program. Keep it up, fine sir!

    Incredible!
One of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to. Historical, insightful, reasoned, and full of heart. So necessary in a culture that has forgotten why it is like it is. Just bought the book too!

    Affirming, Edifying, Phenomenally Produced
This is not only the most wonderfully produced show I’ve listened as you feel like you are enjoying a documentary, it’s also so faith affirming and edifying. Grateful for Justin’s work!

    Outstanding!
I have loved the apologetic-style podcast for some time, but Justin sets a new bar with this one: the storytelling, the mix, and the use of music. Everything is just phenomenal. I have recommended it to many others and look forward to every new episode. Thank you to all those involved for bringing such great information wrapped and such fantastic quality.
  • Ken Ritchie
    Fantastic!
I came OUT OF antagonist atheism IN TO Christian faith just before the rise of the so called New Atheism. This podcast could not have been available to me then, but I am grateful that it is here for atheists and new Christians alike in this day. Give it a listen. Go back and listen from the beginning. It's well worth your time.

    Amazing Podcast
Justin the Kidd(sorry the music sounds like he is in a western movie) is a brilliant podcast host. I’ve listened to his podcasts for the last 4 years, is ability bring clarity to complex subjects with his British accent is always good show.

    Unbelievable show.
Justin does an incredible job. Top tier production value. Every interview clip makes me want to watch the whole original source. Great stuff.
  • broasaiah77
    Good content
I low key wished there wasn’t so much music in the background playing all the time. The content is very very very good and can stand on its own (in my personal opinion).
  • Shelovesbible
    Absolutely fascinating!
Wow. This series is incredible and much needed for our culture and season as we navigate our world. So eye-opening and thought-provoking. Whether you are a Christian or not this is a must-listen to series to engage your heart and mind!
  • malibbons
    Respectful and thought provoking
I’ve been fascinated by this series! Very well done and respectful. No fear mongering. Justin does a masterful job of presenting a sweeping narrative arch of the progression of both atheist and Christian thought throughout far and recent past. Encouraging and thought provoking for both Christian’s and “nones” alike.”
  • Bmandible
    Amazing find!
I can’t believe I was unaware of Justin’s work in this area. These are incredibly important conversations and I pray these talks and interviews will help us better reach the lost and help us better understand the beauty of our faith!
  • cjb_21
    Very interesting and much needed
This podcast is very encouraging to me. I have had friends and loved ones swept away by the ideas of the new atheistic movement and to see that there is some good coming out of this causes me to praise God even more. Thank you Justin and team for putting the work into this series and I also look forward to purchasing your book. Continue your work in this.

    Great Podcast Documentary
Timely and necessary. Thought provoking. It’s time for the west to rediscover the foundational story upon which it is built.
  • kenwilsonian
    Great review of the subject.
Loved listening to this. Really took me back to the early 2000’s and what events were like then. Definitely a compelling documentary. I find myself very encouraged listening to this and excited to see people broadly open to the idea of God.
