Every episode is exactly like this: Lauren to the guest: “So what do you think of this? Well here’s MY opinion…” and then she talks and talks and doesn’t allow the guest to respond appropriately and if they do, it’s always like one word answers or they sound tired because she’s done going on her word vomit. She needs to take a backseat and let her guests talk. If she wants to just talk openly, don’t invite guests.

I thought this was a great podcast until they covered Demna being CD of Gucci - a man who blatantly promoted pedophilia was called a “genius” by these podcasters. No commentary on how disgusting balenciaga’s messaging has been, as a result of Demna’s guidance. Incredibly out of touch and repulsive podcast. They’re not very bright, or don’t want to be burdened with saying ANYTHING that matters. NEXT.

I agree with many of the reviewers here. The topics and the guests, great. The interview style, horrible.

Ive been listening since the beginning and as a fashion person I wanted to love it. After a few episodes I went to look at the reviews out of curiosity and they echoed a lot of what I was feeling. Often Lauren has a guest on and she’s just taking up the airspace with long winded questions that she starts to answer herself? and before you can really get frustrated about it, the guest chimes in with truly NO interesting takes, they can be so impersonal and lacking any sort of point of view. Painful to listen to (Becky Malinsky is the first one to come to mind here), just so so many boring guests, so many useless anecdotes. I feel the only guest I enjoy listening to is Stef Yotka.

What a wonderful introduction for me to the Fashion People podcast!!!! Like Lauren, I found myself getting quite emotional over the amazing Liz Tilberis and her Harpers Bazaar years. Not to mention her wonderful book!!!

Highly recommend this podcast to any mystery lover. That’s because it’s baffling why someone who purports to be a lauded journalist and fashion luminary spends episode after episode mispronouncing words, doing little to no research on guests, and repeating dull personal anecdotes. Lauren is no enigma but why she continues this podcast and diminish Puck’s reputation in the process is a whodunit for the ages.

Christopher Kane, Bella Freud! Lauren - it keeps getting better and better plus I love the pulpy, scoopy, puckish attitude.

Ill formed, endless questions embedded with rambling personal opinions might fly in print reporting. However, the point of an audio exchange is to let us hear your guests. The pros know that humble questions often elicit the best responses. So kindly tuck your ego into your tailored The Row trousers and try listening to the talented people who agree to come on your podcast so we can too.

This podcast gets some great guests, but it’s insane how rude and demeaning and elitist the host is. It’s almost insufferable to listen to her. She needs to stop sucking up to her guests , acting like she’s the only person in the world with taste and quite frankly insulting every American. Those are the people that buy clothes at the end of the day stop being so insulting. This podcast would be so much better if they replaced her

Lauren stop talking so much, particularly about yourself. Enjoy the topics and guests but want to hear more of their opinion and voice! Lauren talks too much and over her guests, love her point of view but save it for the solos or intro/recap. More from guests!!

Host just rambles on and on about herself, and doesn’t let guest get a word in. It’s easy to forget for stretches that a guest is even on. Unfortunately she’s not charismatic enough to carry a solo show.

Interviewer dominates the conversation. Would be better if she let the guests do most of the talking and focused on teeing up interesting questions.

Most of the guests and conversations on this pod are great. I enjoy the deep dives and “niche” conversations. I’m not in the fashion industry, and still really enjoy listening. That said, guests’ audio is inconsistent. Some weeks it’s great, other weeks it’s quite hard to understand what the person is saying.

I agree with other reviewers that too often, Sherman centers herself in interviews, and speaks over guests. It’s repetitive (we’ve heard the same anecdotes multiple times!) and it comes off as ungracious, especially when coupled with her refusal to learn to pronounce the names of big, known industry names (Blazy!). Hire someone to write down pronunciation for you…after a certain point it does seem deliberate.

If the point of the podcast is fashion, with knowledgable guests - what in the wide world of wisdom would propel the host to yammer on about her learning to drive or other random navel gazing conversations? Who is editing this? Please focus. NO one cares about the host’s personal life!!!!!

One of my favorite podcasts purely because of the topics and guests but you never let your guests speak. And frankly it’s exhausting to listen to ramblings that have nothing to do with the initial topic 🙈

This podcast presents needed news coverage but proves that writers aren’t always cut out to be on-air talent. Too much ego, too many casually derogatory remarks about “civilians,” and interviewers should not speak more than or over their guests.

I love idea of this podcast and WANT this podcast to succeed but please will someone ask Lauren to stop talking over guests, answering the questions she asks the guests herself, and giving us a rambling rundown of all her purchases in her entire lifetime apropos of nothing! Great guests, great topics. I’d love for Lauren to be a great host! Latest episode in which Rory Satran is asked a question and 20 minutes later still hasn’t been given room to answer it is unbelievable. WTH?!!

The overall tone of the pod is someone trying to relive the glory days of her youth.

The info on this show is insidery-ish and pretty fun! However, I was compelled to review out of utter exasperation at how Lauren Sherman episode after episode subjects her qualified fashion people guests to listen to her rambling staccato fashion thoughts. Listen, Lauren is clearly in the right profession, but her rampant feverish fashion brain comes across better filtered through writing and editing. I feel so sorry for her glazed over guests, most of whom are clearly bored and wondering why they're there.

I appreciate the mix of guests and topics on this podcast and I always learn something new about the fashion industry. But please, Lauren, can you let your guests talk? So often you ramble or ask these very leading questions! I’d love for the guests voices to shine a bit more in the interview portions of the show.

This podcast is sooo close to being great but I really wish the host would take some of the feedback from the comments. The guests are great, the topics are great but I wish the host would focus on allowing the subject to speak without interrupting them with her own personal anecdotes. Asking what they had for breakfast also doesn’t add very much either.

I was excited for this podcast because I love Puck’s offerings but this was a disappointment. The topics and guests are interesting in theory but the host is a snooze… she interrupts her guests to tell her own self aggrandizing, name-dropping stories.

I want to love this podcast…I have relevant career background, follow all things fashion/biz media and love the roster of guests but Lauren needs to let them talk! Her obsession with sharing her own rambling takes before letting the invited “expert” speak is exhausting and a total disconnect from the well-deserved praise she gets for her written coverage. Will still listen tho 🤷‍♀️ because no one else is doing this beat well

The word “etcetera” has a “T” Please don’t say “eksetera” Please pronounce the T😊😊 It’s like saying : aks , nukelar , expresso instead of: Ask , nuclear , espresso It sounds cringing since you use the word ( etcetera) quite often ….other than that great podcast !

I wanted to love this podcast so badly as the topics and guests are super interesting. I know the host is focused on high fashion, but to speak about Tuckernuck / Zara interchangeably and be condescending & dismissive about it made it really clear how out-of-touch she is with the typical listener and came across as ignorant in the retail space. The hunt for quality fashion news continues…

Sherman should not be hosting a podcast. Interviewing is not her strong suit. She constantly interrupts her guests and wildly veers off topic. The interjection of her odd personal business is unsettling. I really wanted to like this podcast but I am going to pass.

I come here for fashion news and this host makes it near impossible to get through a single episode... which is sad because most of the guests are actually interesting. The name dropping and stories are always weird, or too close to the subject, that there isn't true journalism here, there is just sucking up to keep the invites coming. Being able to "read the room" is an art form this host has no clue how to do that. From the bizarre food comments, (feel horrible for her kid) to being so far away from the current state of the world, this pod is a pass.

If you like to hear LS repeatedly talk about her fashion industry inspired orthorexia and she spends way too much of her income on the Row then this is the podcast for you

Really wanted to love this podcast and I’ve given it a very fair try but the host is not good at interviewing… a lot of bizarre comments and random stories that have nothing to do with what her guest is talking about. Might be able to get through it if she had a cohost or interrupted less. The topics are interesting. The conversations are not, unfortunately. Also weird to focus so much on how “fashion people” skip meals

I really wanted to love this show but after weeks of trying it out, it’s just clear Lauren Sherman should not host a podcast. From her crazy vocal fry, to the horrendously rude way she refuses to learn people’s names (refering to so many as “that guy”) or how to correctly pronounce them, to her inability to actually let her guests speak because she has to share her own inane stories…it’s just a big no for me. What a shame.

I literally hate that this podcast/Puck media keeps getting political stating Biden should step down but it is totally okay with/support of a lying convicted felon running. That’s totally fine. He’s totally fit to run , it’s the old guy who isn’t. You guys are clowns for that and it lets me know what you as a corporation support. #clowns

Lauren has such a sharp but personable delivery! Love listening to this charming, smart new podcast.

Really enjoyed the dissection of fashion in the film Challengers! This podcast is a combo of business and fashion, but heavy on the fashion , which makes it exciting! Congratulations Lauren!!

I like Lauren Sherman. Her content is always thought- provoking. I think this podcast will shed light on the industry to those with just a passing or general interest in fashion. Then some of the topics are a bit “fashion heavy” (in a good way- more understood by fashion insiders), so there will be an appeal to those looking for a more nuanced discussion on the industry.
