This is a near perfect podcast. It manages to be quick, informative, and always on point. The host doesn’t waste a word but manages to give listeners a reason to grow their TBR pile.

I love this review of golden age mysteries. It’s so relaxing. I look forward to each new review. One question though have you ever reviewed any Mickey Spillane books?

    A cozy listen
After a stressful day, I love sitting down to listen to Les Blatt's thoughtful reviews. They offer some history and insight all by themselves, even if I wasn't constantly on the hunt for new mystery novels. This podcast somehow captures the coziness of reading a classic mystery too. I really enjoy Les' work.

    Neglected classics featured here
I listen religiously each week to this wonderful podcast, and have found some vintage mystery gems among the books discussed. You really get a taste of the book, which helps you decide whether to track it down, since many are out of print. Thanks so much!

perfect for restless discriminating book lover
Les Blatt deserves our thanks and praise for devoting himself to spreading the word about many out of print literary mysteries. He is clearly a discerning reader, a true lover of the mystery genre, and a generous, enthusiastic fan of a wide variety of writers. You will be impressed by the amount of information about each novel he can pack into a five minute review. You will also be infected by his enthusiasm for each book he is discussing. Every podcast has been enjoyable. Bravo Mr. Blatt for taking this project upon yourself. It is a service to all of us hungry readers. Thank you for your civic minded spirit to the universe of readers out here. I applaud you as much as you applaud the authors you love. All authors -- even the ghosts of authors -- need readers like you.

Fabulous Podcast for Mystery Book fans
This is a really cool podcast that practically MAKES you go and get the book to read. There is JUST enough information about the book's plot and author to tease you into reading it. Thankfully, the books are still in print and available from the library or amazon (used) for a small sum. A cool podcast for anyone who likes vintage mysteries (books and some short story anthologies are reviewed). Some of the books are obscure and while I am a big mystery fan, I haven't heard or read most of these books. It's like a whole new area to mine that I didn't even suspect was there. This podcast is AWESOME! Keep up the great work!!!
