ChristopherRTucciCasual Homophobia and Helpful Football infoLong time listener and subscriber to Joe’s website- bummed that in the last episode we’re subjected to hurtful homophobic comments by co-host and guest. This type of old school machismo makes our sport worse. Do better.

el chuco 915Great resourceInformative podcast! As a young football coach in West West Texas (El Paso) I want to learn as much football as possible. I enjoy listening to JDF weekly and learning more about the game. Thanks guys! Highly recommend.

RicotechLearning something new every episodeHi I grow up playing basketball and didn’t know any about football. My son started playing football in 3rd grade and love it. It forced me to learn more football so I can help him with his development. I have learned so much about football listening to this podcast. Thank you for contributions to the football coaching community. I would be completely lost without this podcast. Keep up the good work.

Justin83680Simplicity is beautifulJoe Daniel focuses on the little details while keeping the big picture simple. Football is hard enough, human nature is hard enough, why make schemes so difficult for your own players to follow? Love the place you have found Joe.
-
CoachBrewRunGreat PodcastI really enjoy the podcast podcast and listen to it several times a week. Might eventually get to all of the episodes. Even after 18 years of coach I still learn stuff listening to these guys and the great guests they have on the show.

DblHelixJoe is a Talented Teacher!I usually don’t find myself writing to much reviews but the content Joe puts together on his YouTube channel and podcast are excellent. He doesn’t just teach plays, but gives you a conceptual understanding of football that translates to all levels.

Coach Ronnie HH prepHow to properly utilize a QB spy?Coach Ronnie here DC at Hilton head prep in South Carolina I absolutely love Thai podcast listen to it almost every night. I’m wondering if you could possibly do a quick clinic or long clinic on how to properly use a QB spy and what’s best to do around that and what they coaching points might be.

Chriatian SimsGreat great workI listen to you in my cubicle all day. You make all this complicated stuff really understandable. I am a big football fan but the Xs and Os have always been a challenge. qb12jmHow to get into coachingThis is a review and a question! First, I love that you have a variety of topics that I can pick and choose to listen to that will help me progress in my football knowledge. I am not a coach, but I am trying to get into coaching. I played high school football and was successful enough As a QB in high school to get a chance to play college ball. After college, life got in the way and I drifted away from football. Since I have been away from football all of these years, how do I go about getting into coaching at the age of 34 with no experience. Being new to Texas and playing all of my football career in the state of Indiana I feel like I have zero references. I have emailed every high school and junior high in my area asking if I can volunteer for their program but with no experience, I don’t get a response. What do you have to do to get into a program with no relevant references, no experience, and no history in the program? I’m not looking to get paid....hell, I will go scout other teams if that gets me in! Thanks for you time!

coach j longThanksCoach keep up the good work. Good Luck this season as the Head Coach! You will be great!!!

Coach 2-4-1Pot of GoldJoe Daniel does an excellent job providing quality football knowledge on a variety of subjects. No better free resource out there. The podcast has made me a better coach. I was told in my off-season as a coach, “If you just learn one thing from everything to study, it was worth it.” If you can’t learn from thing from each podcast, you aren’t trying. Great workout material!
-
Chee-opGood StuffI’m about to start my 33rd year coaching football and I’m still learning the game -especially from coaches much younger than me, like Joe. His podcasts give me new ideas, remind me of old ideas, and sometimes affirm what we are already doing. It’s a great resource for any football coach. I’ve been listening since well before episode 100 and I can’t wait for my Thursday runs and a new podcast from Joe. Keep up the great work.
-
Austin SherfyDon’t waste this coaching resource!Joe Daniel’s podcast is one I’ve been spreading along the coaching staff and one I would recommend to any person getting into coaching. Joe makes the info easy to follow and understand, has a good sense of humor, and gives me belief that I can improve our success at Litchfield High School. A must listen for coaches!
-
SteveB*Great ResourceI found the podcast back in December. I’m in my 11th year coaching and preparing to be a coordinator, this podcast has been an excellent tool. Keep up the great work JD!

Coach Strick-The Football Coaching PodcastCoach Daniel provides the most practical coaching podcast for high school football application. "Coach simple, play fast, win" has been one of the best lessons I have learned as a coach. The podcast led me to become a jdfb insider, which has directly influenced certain coaching decisions made last season. Great job Coach!

LibertarianfreeloaderYouth Coach? Stop looking. This is your podcast. This is THE best podcast about coaching football you will find. Very few Youth Coaches actually understand the game. Fewer understand how to teach kids what they know (let alone what they don't know). I was one of them. This podcast helped me realize just how much I needed to learn. Joe Daniel is focused on High School, so if you're a youth coach you'll need to simplify his schemes a bit. But if you plan to move up, year after year you'll eventually be coaching 8th graders at some point anyway. Get the jump now and give your kids a great foundation.

Coach Matt HoveEssential for all football coachesJoe I first downloaded this podcast on a move from California to Arizona. I now send this to every coach that works for me or that I have worked with. There is not enough of these out there. I am now the head coach of a high school team in Connecticut and I will come back to some of the episodes multiple times to refresh what I need to do. If I could make one suggestion, I would do two a week, one of them being exclusivley with other coaches from around the country as guest speakers. I have coached at every level from a Pro Team in Europe to college and high school, to 9-man football, and this is an essential tool for every level of coach.

Jason KnebelGreat showLove the show lots of great information. Love listening and alway looking forward to your next episode

User263Argumentative toneI enjoy hearing some x and o talk in a podcast but if you would ease the negative tone and take a less argumentative disposition this would be better. ie episode 221 run play

Barstow AztecAmazing contentFirst year head coach I listen to this as well as the quick clinic, great perspective on high school football and knowledgeable about all facets of football. If you coach high school football this is a must listen.
-
Coach Dave MurrayAwesome podcast and resourceI became a head coach three years ago in a very competitive division of public high school football in Maryland after 6 years of coaching experience from freshman to jv to coordinator. The first thing I purchased for my staff with my own money was a membership to JDFB insiders. The podcast plus the resources available on insiders are amazing. I met Joe at a Glazier clinic and he was friendly, genuine, and honest. Most importantly, he was a real teacher/coach who wants to learn and grow. I appreciate that. We are all students of the game and we are in it because we love to compete, but more importantly we love the game of football and its impact it has on young men, schools, and communities. Thanks joe, money well spent every year.
-
Coach GatchThanks!Coach JD, you do a fantastic job covering a wide variety of topics and opening up a new avenue of thought for coaches to get outside of their box. It really doesn't matter if you are in your second year or twenty second year of coaching, the game is continually changing and having a growth mindset is the starting point for success!
-
Coach SimardJoe's on Point!I found this Podcast a few months ago. This is a fantastic way to increase knowledge in all aspects of coaching football. The show has validated a lot of my coaching methods and more importantly highlighted more than a few I need to work on! Thanks Joe, keep doin what your doin!
-
Coach Eric CBest Coaching Podcast AroundJD is a down to earth coach that understands how to find success by getting better at the many aspects of football. He doesn't tell you what to do but what you can or cannot do. This podcast gets you to think outside the boundaries despite the level or style of coach you are. I love it. I have picked up a handful of things to better myself and or my players and hope to gain more as I listen. Appreciate you Joe! Keep it coming.
-
LawarriorsGreat football infoI have been coaching high school football for 15 years now and have been listening for the past year so far. The podcast has helped me each week consider different aspects of the game and make me a better coach. I have been an offensive coordinator for 6 years in the past and just became a defensive coordinator last year and this podcast has helped me develop my schemes. Last season, as the DC, we went undefeated and made it to the semifinals before falling to the eventual state champs. Best season in season history. Defensively we averaged allowing 48 rushing yards a game and only 11 points per game. Only one team scored more than 14 points against us. All thanks to info I learned using your information. Keep doing what you do for coaches of this great game.
