    Eaten By a Grue fan
I followed Carrington Vanston over from his Eaten By a Grue (which you MUST listen to as it is AMAZING!!!). Long story I am a huge fan of his and now am a fan of Mike. This is another phenomenal podcast talking about stuff I experienced growing up. I love the subject matter AND the tangents of glory! Long story short - More Carrington please!!!

Best Arcade podcast on the interweb!
I thoroughly enjoy each and every episode! I especially enjoy when you guys cover a game that I can play on my vectrex or one of my Atari consoles. Thanks and Happy new year!

    Great podcast
What a great podcast. I just learned about this one from the YDK Flak podcast and I am very grateful for the suggestion. Nice and concise review of each classic game, no fluff or wasted time and the interaction between Mike and Carrington is great. This podcast has gotten me over the hump to buy a mame cabinet to start playing along with the fellows.

I went to arcades at every oppurtunity as a kid, and try to hit up our local barcade when I can as an adult. Mike and Carrington give arcade games the treatment they deserve with lots of cool background info and friendly but passionate discussion. The 2 hosts couldn't be a better match - they are at their best when they disagree, and the debates they have with each other always make me think. Love it, you guys are killing it. Keep it up!

Best arcade review Podcast on the Internet.
If you grew up in the 70s and 80s playing arcade games subscribe now. Mike and Carrington give wonderful reviews about the classics, and games you've never heard of. Since the Flux Capacitor hasn't been invented yet, this is the next best thing to keep those great games alive.

An Amazing Classic Arcade Game Podcast!
Even though Mike and Carrington suffer from the misguided notion that the Apple II was the greatest personal computer of it's day, by no means does this impact the awesomeness of this podcast. As someone who couldn't pry a quarter from their old man's pocket to save their life, I appreciate hearing all about arcade games that I have previously only experienced as VCS or C64 ports. Be careful listening to No Quarter as it's very addicting and you'll wonder where your weekend went due to marathoning the entire back catalog of shows in one ill conceived sitting. Thanks for a great podcast guys, your constantly turning me on to new games to check out. A+++ podcast, would listen to again!

    Awesome!
This is a great show about arcade machines from the 70s to the 90s. If you love any kind of classic gaming, you really should be listening to this.

These guys don't really know that much. But that's a good thing.
Carrington and Mike are not arade machine experts by any stretch. They don't have rooms full of machines in their basements, and they can't recap a monitor. This does not keep No Quarter from being an excellent podcast. The hosts spend a large amount of time talking about the game mechanics and whether the game is actually fun or not, and they do it without the cynicism of your typical arcade machine collector snobbishness that is really refreshing. They also throw in fun bits of history about the machine (which may or may not be accurate) and the history of the company making the cabinet. The episodes are all under 30 minutes or so, so it doesn't collapse under its own weight. If you want to jump in, start at around episode 10. They've knocked most of the machines everyone knows about by that point and start digging deep for different, more obscure titles.

Revisit the arcade, and catch some games you missed
This is a prime podcast if you spent any time in the arcades in the late 1970s through the 1980s, or if you just want to know how us old folks lived in them. Mike and Carrington not only are (or become) well-versed on these old games, but they really enjoy them--yes, even the ones they hate--and it shines through. The podcast is info-packed--anything from the specs of the machines to the description of gameplay is fair game, and the duo bring all of this info about a really visual medium to life through the spoken word. Not only that, they're a lot of fun to listen to. Trans-national trash-talking (of an amiable sort) is the order of the day as these two compete for high scores and over who properly pronounces "Z". Give this podcast a listen. There is no way you will be disappointed!

    memories just the ticket
Like the under an hour length! I Mostly like the descriptions of old games. I also like the technical info and the ported to different systems info. I suppose when they run out of games they could compile best and worst lists. It would be nice if they could put a picture of the game in review as the MP3 image. Maybe it's a copy right thing?

    The hosts make it fun!
A great program about stand-up arcade games, both well known and obscure, hosted by knowledgeable players. McGinnis and Vanston play well off each other, and make the information they share entertaining and enticing (more often than not, makes me feel like finding the game or the MAME ROM to try it out). Can't compare with other arcade game podcasts, I've not listened to them. But after hearing this one, can't see why I would need to!

    Finally, some coin-op talk!
Discussions about coin-op games, even on the Internet is still very rare. This solves this problem. Sure, there's plenty of home console talk, but have we forgotten the arcades the games grew from? No, these guys haven't. Younger generations won't get to experience the joy that was the video arcade in the 80s. But you can get the gist of things, game by game in great depth with this podcast. The 2 hosts have great chemistry with each other. Everything these 2 guys do for this podcast & others is worth subscribing to.

    favorite weekly podcast
Combines elements that make the Open Apple and Retrocomputing Roundtable podcasts great, for a highly listenable and eagerly awaited weekly stroll down read-only-memory lane. Carrington and Mike occasionally (OK, often) lament their lack of general gaming ability or mention how "real" gamers may mock them, but I hope their weekly practice sessions never do elevate them to that echelon. There are enough snooty, conceited podcast hosts out there already whom I could not stand to listen to every single Monday!

Buckle up, Spanky. You're going for a ride.
The No Quarter Postcast is a compelling, entertaining, quirky, and a very wonderful production. Show hosts Mike Maginnis and Carrington Vanston pilot the No Quarter vehicle through the a myriad of great arcade games from the 1980's. Each show carefully reveals technical details of one classic game, usually including design and play notes. There are often short and wonderful side trips in nostalgia that bring the games to life and scale the featured title among other titles of the day. This podcast feels more like a dialog verses discussion based podcast as reader feedback is encouraged and higlighted. Be prepared to learn how you too can enjoy these arcade classics, and cross-train your fingers to compete. Perhaps you too possess virtues that will bestow a high score that will be looked upon with respect, a high score so exemplary that it will be placed high in the celestial firmament to shine brightly among the video arcade masters of yore.

I LOVE this Led Zeppelin Song!
... this isn't the song? Well, it's good too I guess. Full of cut and thrust, smack and talk and two of our favorite retro heroes - Carrington and Mike (I know that Carrington gets top billing because he is kind of a jerk that way.) Give it a listen, it'd be hard not to enjoy the time.

A Gaming Podcast Worthy Of Your Listen.
Thanks to the "You Don't Know Flack" podcast for giving me the heads up on the No Quarter podcast! Mike McGinnis and Carrington Vanston co-host this fantastic podcast which focuses on those never to be replaced arcade titles of the 80s. Mike and Carrington give you the low down on not only the specifications of the arcade titles they dicuss in each episode but pepper in bits of trivia and easter egg information that you can actually use to show off to your friends if you are lucky enough to have an arcade in your neck of the woods. Each episode of the podcast is about 30 minutes long so it's perfect to listen to while you are headed to work, and the good natured bantering of the hosts brings back my memories of trying to be top dog at my local arcade. Keep up the good work! Though...what is with the hatred for the Atari 2600 Pac-Man?
