ZephonicIf only more people knewJen Briney does what she does so we don’t have to! Most of her episodes are about bills up for vote in Congress, and yes, she actually reads them! Then she summarizes it in a clear and succinct manner so you know all you need to know just by listening to a podcast. An invaluable, yet entertaining, service that deserves wider recognition.

brarizerLove the show but less name callingI love listening keeps me up to date thank you for all you do however could do with a little less name calling. Like “Daddy Elon” and the “Orange one” (trump).
-
Nels4790Jen Is StupidJen likes to talk about bills that are left as being good, and bills on the right as bad. And yet claims to be non-partisan. Go F yourself.
-
CenzanoDecent information and ignorance.Briney puts things together pretty well for the most part, but when anything medical comes into play you’ll have to completely ignore her comments because she has absolutely no idea what she’s talking about and doesn’t appear willing to do even a quick Google search to learn. Specifically, when COVID-19 started spreading and her repeatedly saying Biden has dementia. It raises the question of her accuracy regarding the other information she’s sharing, and me questioning her accuracy means my value dollars are going elsewhere. She also takes cheap shots at people by calling them simple names when she gets the chance. The young man who tried to kill Trump was confused and had a mental health issue that hadn’t been, as far as I know as of now, diagnosed. No need to debase yourself by attacking him. If you’re providing decent yet questionable information in a childish manner, don’t ask me for money and expect to get any.

RI2CAWell Researched & ImportantJen reports the news in a thorough well researched way. Her latest release about the timeline of January 6th should be a Netflix documentary. (Can anyone on here make that happen!!?) It blows my mind how much Jen reports that is not covered on main stream media. She is thoughtful, clear, concise and has taught me so much about Congress and what goes on during the endless hours of congressional hearings this woman watches! Thank you for the well researched and important information you share! I highly recommend you listen, especially those of you who are unfamiliar with how our government works. You are sure to learn a lot!

Noticing 📺🐑Climate change is not manmade, nor is it real. Also, Trump 2024 for the 3rd win.
-
AvlOrderFacts vs OpinionsTo start the latest episode Jen talks about how she supports everything she talks about on the show with facts. Within 3 minutes of her actually starting the show (after her asking for funding) she goes into editorializing against Israel. Seems over the past 2ish years she’s turned more towards giving her opinions than sharing what’s going on in government.

vetmike92All citizens should listen to this podcast.Left or Right, what happens in congress happens to us, and we should care. Sadly, I can’t get this information in my news subscriptions.
-
Evan4sh#287THE BEST history & explanation of the Israel /Palestine conflict anywhere. Thank you Jen Briney
-
adhkeocNecessary InformationI gave five stars because Jennifer Britney is doing a hard job and a very important job but I’m on the verge of unsubscribing because she spends so much time yelling at listeners who do not pay her and trying to shame them. If you listen, and you should, prepare for the whole narrative to change to shaming listeners at the end of her reporting. I wish she could find an effective way to market her podcast instead of driving people away by yelling at them. Maybe do what Wondery does and release podcasts early to paying listeners and make other people wait?
-
Tre CraftFantastic InformationThe information in Congressional Dish is outstanding. I’ve listened for the last year and now have a much better sense of what is happening in the US government, especially in foreign policy. The host is compelling to listen speaker and even though I don’t agree with her on everything, she cites her sources so thoroughly that you end up very familiar with the issues at hand.
-
Elodie POP DOPI dig the dishWhen you want to find out what is actually happening in government, there is no other source for what happens in the legislative branch. I am a paid subscriber and I wait eagerly on the edge of my seat for each episode. Jen Briney presents an unbiased summary of hearings and findings, but she also lists EVERY SINGLE SOURCE with time stamp references so every single claim can be verified. Keep up the good work!

Coloradoorbust18!The worstI tried to listen to this- my head was exploding/I am a serious adult woman & a hyperdramatic fan girl gushing was just too much.
-
mooktangoThis Show Exemplifies The Power of PodcastsI drive a tractor trailer for a living .. I don't know how drivers managed in the old days before even 8-track players but without podcasts I could not do my job. As a result I have waded through a lot of garbage and found some absolutely excellent shows. This one really stands out.

DJ Fresh - NJ...UPSOligopoly explained!Anyone slaying anything but praise for Jen B is a complete fool. She does all the work and yet a few loudmouths complain. Reporting on the (in)actions of Congress in a descriptive and nonpartisan way is terrific. #3 explained a lot about the corporatist's history screwing over the working people in many countries. This should be part of every history/social studies/ poli-sci high school classes. Americans must hear what is transpiring by the actions of the elite to benefit only business' profits. mattamorphWoW!This is a real eye-opener to American congressional processes and politics. Utterly fascinating and enlightening in the truest sense of the word.
-
Fenway67The best non-political political podcast out thereWow! The quality of research and reporting here is really high quality. The host is engaging and smart and avoids partisanship to bring us behind the scenes of Congress. Absolutely essential listening if you want to know how the government actually works.
-
TimInScInteresting and informativeGreat getting the insightful highlights into what is going on in the government that I don’t have time to seek out myself.
-
johnmerkinstockIncredible amount of information!I can’t believe this podcast exists. It dives extremely deeply into Congress and laws and makes everything so much more simple than I would think is possible. Thank you!
-
Deanz7Essential listeningIf you really want to know how Congress operates, this pod is invaluable!
-
mrscabrajaSimplifies What Congress Is DoingI am so appreciative for all of the research and effort that Jen puts into each episode to summarize topics with a lot of detail and simplify the many things that congress and the government are doing and/or are not doing. She does a great job of presenting the information that she researches in a way that the general public can understand. Jen also is very good at mentioning when she may have a bias towards any topic she is discussing so that if you do not necessarily agree with her perspective personally you are able to form your own opinion based on the facts she presents. The information that I gain from this podcast are things that I do not get from the wide range of news sources I make an effort to consume. This podcast has made me more passionate about understanding what exactly our government and congress are doing and what they are supposed to be doing so I can make better informed decisions about the representatives that I can vote for. Also, the intro/outro song is amazing and it gets stuck in my head quite frequently!
-
SittingredchairGreat and easy to listen to you in long drivesHonest, to the point, and discusses facts. Refreshing to hear government issues without a talking head. She has no partisan bias and all issues that are partisan are created by the party themselves. Lovely show will be number 2 next to Jocko 😜
-
LaedonTerrific PodGreat information in detail. Covers every base. If you want to learn more about congress and what it does and how it impacts you then this pod is for you.
-
MarkSweepGood info about what Congress actually doesThe host takes the time to read bills and watch hearings to tell her audience what congress is actually doing. Regardless of your political learnings, this show is a great resource. Sometimes the laws the host uncovers can even save you money!
-
Taurean_CGreat show!Amazing pod. She does a great job detailing each topic of discussion backed with factual researched information.
-
krisK42Great podcastFound this through another podcast and have loved it so far. Jen brings a balanced and well researched approach to topics that she talks about.
-
JjmtubaWell with a listenWell researched and documented discussions about what is actually happening in congress. Jenn actually reads the bills and listens to the hearings and brings nuggets of truth that you won’t hear anywhere else.
-
PortojohnyVery informative podcastThis podcast does a fantastic job of summarizing the inner workings of what happens in congress, which is a refreshing take from other politics based media. Jen doesn’t hide her bias, and while I don’t always agree with her she at least does a great job of voicing why she feels the way she does so I’ve never felt the need to hold that against her. Too many people come to political podcasts expecting an echo chamber for what they already believe, and if that’s what you’re after then this podcast may not be for you, but if you want to learn about how politicians on both sides of the fence are wasting your time and money in the most concise way possible then this is the podcast for you.
-
DeezeezyWell researched but biased leftI’ve listened to about 30 podcasts from Jennifer over the last year or so. So this opinion is based off her last year of podcasts. She does great research, no denying that, undoubtedly reads more bills, etc than some congressman. So that part is great. Who has time to read the hundreds or thousands of pages of the inflation reduction act? More importantly why does the bill need to be that long is the more important question. But the frustrating thing about her podcast is her angle is corporate corruption in our government. She doesn’t apparently “see” anything else. Also she is anti-gun, pro state paid-for health care and other left leaning tenets and says her opinion thru out her podcasts with out acknowledging the other side of the debate. In other words, she’ll say owning a gun is wrong without bringing up the fact that the second amendment of one of our founding documents gives citizens the right to bear arms. Hello?! Do she know how much thought and research went into the constitution and bill of rights? I was just filtering out her opinion and just looking for the facts in her podcast earlier but it has reached a point for me where it has become so frustrating listening to her podcast. Like listening to a podcaster talk about how gravity doesn’t exist. So contrary to all I’ve personally seen and experienced that I’ll just look for another podcast at this point If you are left leaning or very pro environment and you like to know what is going on in congress, you should listen to this podcast. If you’re libertarian or right-leaning, you’ll probably get annoyed at her comments and opinions she voices in the podcasts
-
emwalkervcAmazing!Amazing! I listen to this for all things congressional. I love that she posts all of her sources, and meticulously researched her work.

€¥ plane swag £^Best Podcast Available for Real InformationIn reading some recent reviews, someone mentioned that Jen dangerously downplayed the Covid19 crisis. This is just not true. She made a few comments in one of her thank you episodes that was wrong, but she admitted it (as she always does if she makes a mistake) the very next episode. She also followed up with some comprehensive episodes on Covid19 and the Cares Act. Jen does a fantastic job digging through all on the information that congress is working on that you will never here in the MSM. She gives you all the sources of her findings and wants you to verify what she is telling you. This podcast is the only one that I trust 100% because there are no ads and all of the sources are provided. Everyone needs to listen to this podcast and then support the show with your $$$ because the information provided is invaluable. We need more people like Jen keeping our government accountable.
-
atebitheroMy favorite podcastI love this show. Full of receipts, and insightful information. My only complaint is that there are not enough episodes!
-
MacBKinSo good.Everything is honest and well researched. I don’t agree with all of her opinions, but I am so glad this podcast exists.
-
SurrenderadreamLove this PodcastThank you for doing the research I don’t have enough time to do myself.
-
James838/9/9:&Favorite political podLove the perspective and the info.
-
Stcook66Left Leaning propagandaSuch wasted potential. She would serve her audience well by announcing her bias upfront. Was really looking forward to listening on a regular basis. Might check in from time to time to see if spirals down the woke left rabbit hole or offers the pursuit of truth.
-
RobbieDTBest show for explaining how and where our tax dollars are spent.I’ve been listening to this podcast for years and Jen has opened my eyes to the craziness that goes on in our name. I’ve also been a Patron for a while now. She reports what she reads in Bills and Laws from an outside the “ Bubble “ perspective that a layperson can understand; because she is a layperson just like me. She’s also an inspiration to look deeper into what Congress does in our name. I’m actually thinking of starting a podcast like this that focuses on California. Always remember, these people work for us! They’re our representatives, not our bosses! We are their bosses! Long Live Congressional Dish!
-
B. BirdellNew listenerWell researched, well delivered. Really good!
-
KatK1121Perfect podcast for government nerds!I listen to this every episode and have listened to the entire back catalog. Must listen to learn SO much about our government, and how the US interacts and impacts the world.
-
CStaff42096This level of research and detail is unmatchedThe amount of detail that Jen puts in to researching and producing each episode is truly unmatched in the podcast industry. Every episode, she shows time and time again the value that her podcast provides to listeners — from explaining the details of a new bill, to informing me about hidden details of an existing law that I had previously not known, the education I receive from listening to this show is so valuable. Additionally, Jen does a great job at providing information in an unbiased why, laying out the facts as they stand, and she makes it clear when she is giving her opinion, which I truly appreciate. Thank you Jen for all you do!
-
TherunningpilotSuch a great public serviceWhat Jen does in this podcast is so important to this country. She gives a very unbiased and non partisan view on what good and (mostly) bad Congress is doing, and that the mainstream media isn’t paying attention to. Every American should listen (and donate)!
-
BrenthymA must listen! This podcast is fantastic in so many ways. Jennifer is an educator of what Congress legislates. We should all be thankful for her efforts.
-
ShellbearThe BEST middle ground government podcast! For those of you looking for a middle ground political podcast, check this one out! Jen does a really good job of digging into bills that are becoming law, researching the history behind related legislative topics, calling out politicians on both sides by identifying their lobbying funding sources, weighing the content of the bills against their practical consequences, diligently fact-checking, and generally watching an unhealthy amount of CSPAN so the rest of us don’t have to. It’s family friendly if you don’t mind occasional profanity being censored by amusing golf-swing clips in place of “bleeps.” Instead of being beholden to advertisers, she practices the “value for value” model where her show is funded 100% by listeners. Keep up the good work, Jen! 5 stars all the way.
-
KuniyoWhat really happens in Congressional hearings?Jennifer Briney does the work to research what happens in hearings and talk about all the things that get done or don’t get done by the people we elect. She is nonpartisan and the podcast focuses on what is discussed and passed by Congress and the House and all the nonsense that happens when nothing productive. This is fantastic work and it’s a travesty that so few people know it exists
-
TheNightCafeA non partisan perspective of the law passed by congressThis is the type of information I’ve always wanted. Political podcasts focus on the drama and horse races of politics and not what politicians are actually doing in their jobs. Jen can upset both sides of the isle because she isn’t rooting for either party; which I find refreshing but others can find infuriating. Reading legislation is hard; which is why there is no other podcast, tv show etc… like this podcast and I hope she keeps doing it for a long time.
-
incostantemotoWho knew Congress could be so interesting? This is THE podcast to listen to if you’re a true nerd about government. If you believe that policy can make a significant difference (whether it’s good or bad), this show is for you. Jen does a phenomenal job turning what could be a very dry concept into something that's interesting and fun to listen to. She's a great host who really does her homework and all the episodes I've listened to give a detailed look at how unfortunately horrible Congress is behaving. Great job; I couldn't recommend it more highly.

JenH2008Resources are linked; clips from hearings sharedOk….I can see where some people might not agree with all comments. HOWEVER, I will commend Jen for stating and acknowledging any biases before speaking. Truth of the matter is - we all have biases. The ppl who concern me are the ones who can’t acknowledge this. What I appreciate and respect more than anything are the “receipts”!! Information is linked, clips of discussion are in the episodes. We all need to question what we hear and not take all info for face value. Truth of the matter is - mergers, concentration of wealth, deregulation of corporations is harming the middle class….a majority of the population; 95% of us. Rep or Dem - doesn’t matter; principles > party ❤️🤍💙 The latest episode about Ticketmaster - SO refreshing to hear individuals from BOTH sides of the isle open to dialogue, nuance, and context. We need more of it!
-
Leodin-vekGreat showLove the show Jen does a great job breaking down bills and explaining what these people are doing in our name with our money.
-
OptimusgeneFactual Info in a Political WastelandThis is a must for anyone who cares about what Congress is actually doing instead of what they, and the media, say they are doing. If we had more people like Jen who actually read and understood what was going through Congress we might actually get a few things fixed. The Jan. 6th episode was so enlightening.
-
Kingrick44Amazing Podcast! Must listen!Jen is doing Gods work with her show. Anyone saying she is one sided had their mind made up when they realized she didn’t agree with them. Everybody has some biased when it comes to government the nice thing about Jen is she tells you what hers are, and when she’s giving her opinion versus the facts. If you think she is regurgitating what CNN or the NYT says then you haven’t listened to enough of her shows. Sometimes she agrees with the stance of a large news organization(even Fox on occasion!*gasps*). Sometimes she agrees with Democrats and other times she agrees with Republicans. All in all Jen is providing a service that is useful regardless of your political affiliations(or lack there of). Even if you don’t agree with her stance on a topic she provides her research so you can educate yourself to decide if you disagree because of your biased or because you truest disagree. Keep at it Jen, and Tank you for all of the amazing work you have done for the people!
