    Disappointing
I subscribed to this as an emigrant looking to keep up with the news from home. The unexamined centrist/centre-right perspectives are sometimes exasperating but roughly what you’d expect from the IT. Despite this, there was enough useful information to keep me listening. Two things of late pushed me into unsubscribing. The first is the hosts’ repeated snickering about how the prospects of political/governmental instability in Ireland will at least make good copy for them—have they learned nothing from the example of their peers in the U.S. media? The second is the decision to platform far-right anti-choice homophobes who push reactionary social agendas. The hosts seem unfamiliar with the concept of the Overton Window.

    Conspiracy?
Conspiracy? Really Hugh? That word has a criminal meaning. Are you suggesting a crime? I’m an American, a Democrat, and a Biden fan but for the last 2 years I’ve told everyone I talked to about politics that Biden was being a selfish jerk for running again. Why…because he is 81! Did you guys in the media not know he was 81? Is his behavior not consistent with some people at that age? Sounds like you guys are just trying to cover your butt now because the public is saying why didn’t the press tell us. Trump called you guys the enemy of the people, which of course it’s dangerous. But I was glad when Biden won so I could go back to hating the press. Your behavior in the case is pathetic. You Hugh are pathetic.

    on Joe Biden's withdrawal
Sad that you didn't do your research -- Biden's gaffs go all the way back in his career and his pauses - due to his stutter - are part of who he is. There's more but I don't care to do your work for you. Your writing is always so glorious that I didn't expect to hear you sound as though Biden personally wounded you. Looking forward to more reliable analysis in the future.

Greatly enjoyed your Friday wrap program
Pat outdid himself there at the end.

    Surprisingly Funny
The most recent episode was the funniest podcast I’ve listened to in quite a while (nod to Pat’s impressions. More please. Spinout pod perhaps?) As a recent emigrant, Inside Politics keeps me feeling engaged and connected with Ireland.

Hosts and contributors draw you in by speaking to the audience
Enjoy this podcast more than most as Hugh & Pat draw you in with their comfortable and natural way of discussing and exploring in depth topical events, while occasionally making hilarious digs at one another. All the journalists wear their erudition lightly and their easy camaraderie makes listening to their discussion a fun experience. I listen to a wide variety of political podcasts from 6 countries and the Irish Times podcasts continue to outperform those from media outlets focusing primarily on radio & TV. RTE ABC and CBS are found wanting. Also no question but there are those among us who would happily pay to listen to Denis Staunton read aloud from a phone book.

    Hate Fest
Hugh Linehan & Pat Leahy may as well introduce your Irish Times Podcast as a hate fest on Sinn Fein. You two don’t hide your contempt for Sinn Fein.

    Big fan
Love the podcast especially as a young expat trying to keep up with the going’s on at home. As someone who (shamefully) only became politically engaged while living abroad, I would appreciate a little more context/background along the lines The Daily by the New York Times gives to their topics. Sometimes I feel like I’m filling in blanks and maybe not always correctly so.

    Superb political commentary and analysis
As an Irish politics anorak living abroad, I have been a devoted fan of the Inside Politics podcast for some time now. I introduced it to many American friend in the past 12 months who universally applauded its unique and insightful coverage of Brexit. But during the #ge2020 campaign the podcast has really hit new heights. This has been a fantastic way to keep abreast of the political situation in Ireland from snowy New England and boiling hot Thailand. I would have enjoyed a little more local constituency analysis but this podcast is by far my favorite way of keeping abreast with developments at home. I imagine it will continue to be during what promises to be a long period of horse trading and “coalition building” once the results are complete! Keep up the great work guys.

The best discussion on Irish politics in podcasting today
If you need to take the temperature of Irish politics, the team at the Irish Times are your best choice here. The discussion is well informed and balanced. Some good humour peppered throughout and great guests.

Best way to understand Irish politics
I started listening to the podcast ahead of my move to Dublin. Before I understood generally the systems (parliamentary, etc.) but not the details and not the players. There weren't many resources out there about modern Irish politics and the newspapers often assume you know everything. This is a great podcast. Incredibly insightful and full of depth.

Always at the top of my list
Inside Politics is by far the best political podcast on the issues of the day. Rather than featuring a cast of people yelling over top of each other, this show takes policy discussion seriously and offers the kind of in-depth discussion that's all too uncommon. Great host, great regular commentators, great pleasure to listen.

Insightful, high quality look at Irish politics
Nuanced, breezy and always interesting look at Irish politics. I hope the podcast sticks around long after the formation of a government.
