Very Challenging, and that’s a good thing!
This podcast is excellent for comprehension but a little warning, this is a challenging podcast. Interesting topics to be sure, but they are fluent speakers, speaking fluently. Not a lot of consideration for the listeners skill levels, which some may find a little difficult, but I enjoy the challenge and forces me to completely focus. She sells her notes per interview with vocab and a transcript. I highly recommend getting at least a few of the notes along with the podcast and listening along with them.

    Interesting show!
I’m an intermediate-level French learner and love this podcast for authentic listening practice. Jessica has interesting guests and the introduction sections are very helpful! I always pick up a few new things from each episode which is very rewarding.

Great for advancing your french comprehension
I’ve been studying french for about 5 years, and I spent some time living in France. Since returning back, I’ve been searching for an interesting french podcast to help keep up my oral comprehension. This is a great podcast for intermediate-advanced learners. She offers a nice introduction and vocab list at the start of each interview which really helps me. She also offers a written transcript of the entire conversation that I can look back on when I get lost. I’d recommend this to anyone that’s wanting to further their french comprehension.

Jessica is a passionate French teacher and her interviews with native speakers will not only improve your vocabulary and comprehension but will teach you about the world! This is not “the pen of my aunt is on the table” French. It is authentic and lively conversation, not slowed down or simplified. Jessica’s helpful introductions in English will help prepare you for the journey ahead, and you can of course rewind to your heart’s content if you don’t get the French the first time.

    Useful, challenging, long-form French-language podcast
This isn't the only French-language podcast I subscribe to, but it's the best of them (others of which are also quite good). I like the cheerful introduction (in English) by Jessica with a short list of vocabulary words to look out for — though sometimes these aren't the words _I_ would have chosen (ce n'est façile à choisir, j'imagine !). I also like the long-form (half an hour +/-), which helps me to re-engage when I get a bit lost without simply burying me in voices. I like the variety of voices and topics, some of which are more challenging than others, or more interesting than others. C'est la vie, n'est-pas? That variety helps to broaden the range of comprehension. My French teacher in high school (decades ago) had good pronunciation, etc., but it was always her voice we heard, so it didn't always make it easier to understand a wide range of voices.

Best way to boost your French!
This is a really great podcast (in addition to French your way) to boost your French skills. I particularly like the fact that the interviews cover many different subject matters, which makes it very interesting. It’s not only more entertaining that way, but it also exposes you to vocabulary that is relevant to many different topics, that you may not come across or learn otherwise. The length of each episode is perfect as well. It’s overall just really helpful, entertaining, interesting, and even relaxing - which is the best way to learn a language! Thank you, Jessica!

    PARFAIT!!! Intermediates
When you need to immerse yourself in the language but don’t want to be dragged down by listening to the news of the day (war, famine, corruption, etc) in French

    Merci beaucoupJessica!
This is an amazing podcast! French speakers who speak at a natural pace with authentic vocabulary. Challenging! But the best podcast I’ve found so far to practice my French listening skills. And to improve my vocabulary, grammar, and even speaking skills in the process. Merci Jessica!!!

    Wonderful way to learn French!
This is a wonderful Podcast! I recently moved to Paris to live with my wife — and am a bit of a “debutant” when it comes to speaking French. My day to day life can be anxiety inducing, since I don’t have a complete mastery of the French language. Even ordering food can be a bit scary, since my listening comprehension is less than stellar at times. However, thanks to Jessica and her podcast, I have an ally in learning French! This podcast has really helped me immerse myself in French, it trains my brain to listen and understand the French language, and has absolutely boosted my understanding of what is being said around me. On top of that — Jessica puts a friendly voice to this big, new, exciting (but sometimes) scary world I’m living in. Merci beaucoup pour votre Podcast, Jessica!

Best resource for French learners that I've found to date!!!
I am COMPLETELY IN LOVE with this podcast!! I'm a student fresh out of high school, during which I learned French for three years. But I felt as though I hadn't really been prepared to actually speak the language: I had a tiny vocabulary and no listening comprehension skills whatsoever. Nothing could coax me to speak the language. Not even my trip to Paris earlier this summer, when I was exposed to French 24/7. Even though I might've been able to speak a little, I knew I would never be able to understand the responses. So imagine my delight when I discovered this podcast. I've been listening to an episode every day and I am HOOKED! I floundered a little bit in the beginning as I tried to adjust to the tempo of the speakers, but now, 30 days in, you would not BELIEVE how quickly my comprehension level has skyrocketed!! In the beginning I used to understand about 10% of the episode..l now, I understand around 70%! On a regular basis! And I've only been listening for thirty days, and I know my level is going to continue to improve. I'm so excited. These podcasts have changed my life and really, really have had a major improvement on my french. I'm expanding my vocabulary and practicing my listening comprehension at the same time, and actually enjoying myself while I'm doing it! Best of all, these podcasts have made me feel like my French education isn't hopeless after all. They have encouraged me to start seeking out other French podcasts and grammar resources and even to start writing daily diary entries in French: something I never saw myself doing a few months ago! I really feel like I have the chance to be fluent someday. I can't thank you enough, Jessica! Merci beaucoup st s'il vous plaît continuez!! You have helped me so much!

    Wonderful resource
Thank you so much for making this podcast. I absolutely love it. I live in South Carolina and have not heard actual French voices in a long time...This has been a wonderful way to challenge my language skills and learn more vocabulary with each episode. It is so interesting to hear each person’s story. I greatly appreciate your dedication and time to make this podcast!!!!

A great way to improve your French listening
This is for the intermediate to advanced French learner. Jessica, a French teacher who also hosts the French Your Way podcast, interviews native French speakers about their areas of interest or expertise. She reviews a little vocabulary at the beginning, but the rest of the podcast is in French at normal speaking pace. Even better, if you are having trouble with the content, transcripts are available for a fee. And, best, transcripts of her early interviews are available for free! This is a wonderful resource for everyone who is trying to improve their French I am very grateful to Jessica for putting in so much effort to help us learn French. I hope she never runs out of energy.

    Love the Lessons
Thanks so much for your dedication in providing these instructive tips.. finding that you almost have to be very good at grammar in order to better understand sentence structure in French; which i am not 😊

Great resource for training your ear
I love listening to this podcast when I am cooking a meal or puttering about the house. It is an excellent resource to training your ear to the French accent as well as providing information on interesting topics. It has helped expand my vocabulary. This podcast is a true gem, merci à Jessica!

    The best!!!
Every single episode is fascinating and draws the listener in! I love listening about all the interesting lives of native french speakers. This podcast is also the sole reason I got a 5 on the AP French exam!

Great to help with your listening skills!
Jessica's French Voices and French Your Way are complementary podcasts - both of which are very helpful for me in trying to get to the next level in French. I just bought her "notes" pack for Episode 63 on Baguettes. I am about to hike to the top of a mountain with my dog and while there I will take a break to eat and to read the transcription (using the Gumroad app on my iPhone) while listening to the "baguette" podcast (also on my iPhone). Should make for a great day! Jessica has really thought this through plus each podcast is on a very interesting subject! Thank you Jessica!

    Essential!
This is the best one word description for this podcast which I wholeheartedly believe is essential to be able to improve one's understanding of spoken French. While I understand spoken French reasonably well, I get frustrated because there are always some words or phrases I miss and I never know what they are or how important they are to the story. With Jessica's transcript I no longer have that problem! I listen to the podcast once or twice, and then I listen to it again and review with the transcript. This works very well. While there is another news source that also provides transcripts, no one does so using everyday conversations on a wide variety of interesting topics like Jessica. Bravo!!!

The best alternative to French lessons!
Jessica does a great job of interviewing interesting people and using real French.

    Comphrension
I love this podcast. I had been looking for a way to improve my comphrension of native speakers. While I noticed that most people in France will slow down when they talk to a non-native speaker, it would be nice if they didn't have to. I find this podcast interesting and helpful. I can work on my comphrension while learning lots of new vocabulary words. You also get to learn about the lives of some pretty interesting people. The questions, transcripts, and vocab words are very helpful. I wish my Fench classes at the University I attend did something similar to this for comphrension.

    J'adore!
I listen to this and French Your Way almost every day whilst walking my dogs. I don't always (well, almost never) understand it all, but feel I get a good immersion in interesting material that is at times a challenge, at times a review. (And there is a written transcript) Jessica is easy to understand and well organized. And a suggestion for a FYW topic... The many variations of mise. Like mise en jour, etc. I keep finding new ones!

    Great podcast!
Jessica is a wonderful and encouraging host and teacher. The interviews have real depth, and are fairly easy to follow since she has very kindly supplied transcripts in French with helpful notes. It's a great way to step into the language. I can feel my French improving already! Merci, Jessica! Bisous-- Cindy

    Great podcast for all levels!
This podcast is more for advanced learners, but all students of levels have the ability to learn from it. I really love the ability to hear native speakers at a normal speed. Jessica also goes above and beyond by providing transcripts , vocabulary lists and questions for each episode on her website. Highly recommended!!

Absolutely perfect podcast to learn or brush up one's French skills!

    Best podcast for intermediate level
I gave this podcast a 5-star rating for its conversational language, accessibility because not too fast but still representative of normal native speech, very good recorded sound quality, and Jessica has a great voice, very pleasant to listen to. She interviews members of the francophone community living in Australia -- the interviews are personal, warm, engaging. I find conversational French difficult, but this one is workable -- it's well-made, balanced, doesn't make you want to give up. Also, transcript is provided.

    Great Listening
Jessica is a charming interviewer. The conversations should be helpful and entertaining for anyone who wants to learn French. I listen on my phone during my daily walks. Thanks, Jessica!

    Great for improving comprehension!!!
I am so happy I stumbled upon French Voices. I have an early advanced but not yet fluent level in French, and was looking for a resource to help me with my comprehension. French voices has been perfect for me because it teaches new vocabulary and phrases commonly used in French, and lets us hear them in context, spoken by native speakers. I haven't checked out the transcripts or the comprehension questions yet, but this is an amazing FREE, high quality resource (which doesn't come around very often!!) for anyone serious about learning French. On top of that, it is interesting and entertaining to listen to on my commute to and from work. I highly recommend this podcast!!

    Great podcast!
Not only is French Voices a highly effective way to improve your intermediate to advanced French skills… the interviews are also really interesting and entertaining! Lucky for us, Jessica seems to have an unlimited supply of fascinating people to talk to, and she always asks good questions and seems to have a lot of fun producing this podcast. Her passion and enthusiasm are catching! What a wonderful resource!

    My New Favorite Language Resource
Jessica's podcasts are just what I have needed to improve my intermediate French comprehension. Most importantly, Jessica generously makes the transcripts of these interesting conversations easily available and for free! The topics are all over the map, from talking to a crepe maker in Australia to an interview with an antique sign dealer in Paris. Combine this with Coffee Break French and you'll have the two most interesting and valuable resources available anywhere for improving your French.

    Perfect for non-native speakers
I work as a French translator but don't have many people to speak French with. This podcast is awesome for practicing French in an interesting way, while learning about fun topics. Thanks for creating it!!!

Great way to take the next step.
This was exactly the type of French podcast I was looking for. After spending a while learning the basics, I needed something to help me with my listening comprehension. Jessica provides 15-20’ interviews with transcripts to follow along, as well as brief vocab lists and exercises/questions. Also, the interview topics themselves are pretty interesting and make it easy to pay attention. If you’re past the beginner stage and want to get some practice listening to French and increasing your comprehension, this is a great podcast.

    Le Podcast Parfait!
If you have outgrown beginner French but still can't quite understand the news, this is at the perfect level for you. Jessica reviews contemporary vocabulary and idioms prior to the interview in English and French. It's exactly what I was looking for to boost my French listening skills. Merci!

Interesting to Listen to in ANY Language!
I love French Voices! Unlike many programs designed to increase listening skills, this one is actually interesting! Tired of listening to the news in slow French, then listen to this! It’s very well done!
