skarwer100 starsFive stars is too few. His lectures on Tolkien are beyond awesome. How does this only have 200 ratings on iTunes?

Man of CambridgeshireSurprisingly entertaining“Other Minds and Hands” should be so boring. Can’t quite figure out why it isn’t.
-
Shadwell von BernsteinSorry not enjoyable to listen toOften an uncontrolled firehose of poorly connected concepts and ideas via a delivery that is not engaging or entertaining. Perhaps the professor should study Tolkien as a story teller?

UltimafaxDemeaning to the audienceThe discussion of The Rings of Power is so pretentious and obnoxious. “Didn’t like the show? Well, you must be too dumb or impatient! You obviously don’t know the lore. You need to put in the work!” I at first found entertainment from the mental gymnastics the hosts do to convince themselves that the show is somehow good, but I eventually grew tired of being talked down to.

podroasterOther minds…Corey Olsen is one of a select few on the planet who can understand just how poorly written the Rings of Power really is.

King of FrostPandering at its finestA podcast that does little other than pander to the show runners with almost no lore. The 2 hosts stumble and stammer through empty topics, which can be summarized as “Amazon show so amazing, and women strong”

Sheri M BWish I had known about this podcast before this year! What a refreshing concept! Instead of opinions and unsubstantiated drivel, this is a truly intellectual and analytical discussion about works from a creative standpoint that allows for thought, understanding, wondering, and possibles without being pretentious or patronizing.

Amay1620Riddle me thisHow does a podcast that has existed for over ten years less than 150 reviews? I used to have a lot of respect fo Corey Olson but the more I see of what he’s said and the past year or so, I’ve lest it all.

Haru OtakuBest Tolkien related podcast out thereI have been following Corey since late 2010; when it was just the Tolkien professor podcast. Now, I am still listening to most of the podcasts that signum and Mythgard Academy are producing, and attending mythmoot live as often as I can. Very well informed and in depth reading of Tolkien works and related fantasy literature. I think it may be the best material the casual fan can find today, besides the published works. Highly recommend. Oh, and very good chances or participation. Excellent literary analysis by the professor, as well as commentaries from various listeners.

michael delvingPosting troublesWondering when the podcast feed will be updated. I love the podcast, but this month the podcast feed was updated without updating the flagship podcast which has been updated 4 or five more times on YouTube. P frustrating.

Listener01010101010Loosing your way with Exploring Lord of the RingsBeen a listener for several years and I love Dr. Olsen. However I am struggling to stay interested in exploring lord of the rings. The lessons are wading so deep into the minutia of language and hyper-analyzing Tolkien’s every intention and thought, that the story itself is just getting lost. As much as I love a deep dive, I feel strongly that this past year or so you have been missing the forest for the trees. Please consider stepping back just a tad so that people who aren’t Signum students can appreciate the course - because honestly it feels like a person needs a PhD to stay abreast of the conversation. I say it with love and respect!

LongwindedoneOutstanding!Professor Olsen is both interesting and knowledgeable. I love to catch him streaming live but when I can’t his podcast is a great way to catch up.

Daemonic HordeNecessary for all Tolkien fansWanted to learn more about the LOTR universe and found this podcast. Corey’s humor and ability to explain concepts well have made powering through 90+, 2+ hours long episodes in a short amount of time enjoyable. Keep it coming!
