This is very much a curated collection of episodes from a number of shows from the 1930s to the 1940s. Dakota does a great job of presenting known fact about each show and explaining why he sleeted the show for his podcast. Im in process of listening to each of the shows as he presented them.

OTR is my new evening TV. When I was a kid my mother would play cassette tapes of the Shadow, what she listened to when she was young…loved this entertainment ever since.

Far too many advertisements. Two sets of different commercials in addition to those at the beginning and end. Really takes away from what would be an otherwise great podcast.

I just found this podcast. I used to listen to these back in the 1970s. Good to here Fred Gwynne’s (Herman Munster & more) voice again. He had a long and entertaining history in the radio, TV and film industry.

Great podcast! Exceptional variety of episodes! The host is very kind, welcoming and informative. He clearly takes his work very seriously.

I’ve been listening to this podcast for a while. I enjoy “old time radio” shows. This guy gives a good mix of several, including the CBS theater. Dakota adds a cute little program called 5-minute Mysteries to some episodes. They are kind of silly but fun and entertaining in a “campy” sort of way.

Great job cleaning up the audio and sharing classic stories. I run my own podcast, Ghosts In The Valley and I know the work involved to produce a quality podcast. Many great episodes to choose from.

The host is concise and informative about pertinent info regarding each episode, but not where your fast forwarding 10min before you get to the show. There aren’t 5 min worth of ads or self-promotion either, as I’ve seen with a lot of other, similar genre of podcasts. The content speaks for itself and it’s sooooooo refreshing to find someone who’s putting out great content for people to enjoy. The last bastion for a dying art form. Thank you for helping to keep it alive.

Love the program. I especially enjoy the 5-minute mysteries at the end. I remember them when I was a youngster. My local radio station played them at 7:55am before I left for school.

My favorite shows are Hermits Cave and Suspense. I’d love to hear more stories from the Hermit. A good variety of shows and as a guy who went to college for radio, I appreciate how they used all of these sounds and effects without computers! It’s my favorite non sports podcast. The episode I liked best was dance of the devil dolls. The House On Cypress canyon scared the heck out of me though!

Dakoda is an entertaining host with interesting insights. The mixture and variety of episodes is top-notch. Highly recommend for any OTR fans, or anyone who enjoys mystery/suspense-type stories.

So much great content. Not a fan of the Beach of Falesa episode. Uma’s voice is excruciating. However, that’s not the podcast hosts fault. He has so many other great episodes to choose from

Don’t need to hear about condoms or penis issues Terrible commercials. Very inappropriate. This is anything but clean due to the commercials. Supposed to have been fixed but as of Jan 27 2022 there still are shows advertising condoms in a very disgusting way. Shame on you.

Thanks for the great podcast. I love the mix of eras and different programs represented. Not too crazy about the Superman episodes, but everything else is so good, I especially love the oldest content, even when the audio quality is a little rough.

This podcast is fair better than some of the other old time classic ones. The talk is short and sweet and actually about the episodes and not just carrying on. The mystery’s are my favorite so when comedy’s are playing on the Radio Classics XM channel I immediately tune to this. Thanks for doing such a great job!

I just listened to the first Superman episode. I enjoyed it along with the additional commentary. I cannot wait to listen to the next Superman episode that will be posted on Saturday!

Many old favorites here and quite a few that were new to me as well. The host adds a little bit extra about the actors or program when the info is out there. Well done easy listening.

Love the show, I work graveyards and love to hear the old timey programs while I commute. Love the old commercials for cigarettes and war bonds! Some of the recordings are hard to hear sometimes, but I know there’s only so much you can do sometimes. Please keep up the good work, really appreciate it!

Really man? You can do better than this...doesn’t matter how one-sided they are, but we want to hear suspenseful/mystery/horror...not what you’ve got going on right now.

If you like to be assaulted with one sided political ads multiple times per show and you fit the right party you might like this. I have to stop within a millisecond every time the “creepy uncle” type starts talking; making this not worth the trouble.

Political ads. I’ll be back in December. Other than that, I like it.

This podcast has a lot of different shows, you can’t beat the variety. The host does an awesome job. He was a little dry and had lots of dead air in the first season, but he followed it through and became better and better. It’s a great inspiration for finding something you like and sticking to it. I’m glad he did!

Episode 218 Car Ring has a glitch. Keeps repeating itself. Miss your commentary with background info; part of what made your mysteries fun Clearly a labor of love; it certainly can’t be for money. Thank you so much for all your effort in searching old archives for these forgotten gems and restoring them to listenable condition. I listen to one nearly every night.

First let me start by saying I love listening to your podcast. The selection of stories is great and I love the details about the actors after listening to the story. As a person who love mysteries I was happy to find this podcast. I can tell you love what you do, keep it up!!

I really enjoy the plays, but like many others say, I feel there is too much talking before and after. After I have just heard the play I don’t need it to told again as a summery. Yes I could skip those parts, but there are times I am doing other things while listening and can not skip past them to get to the next play on the list and then I find myself getting annoyed because there is too much talking from the host.
