    Alternative ways to lose money.
While an interesting subject, I wouldn’t expect it on a NewTetirement podcast. Maybe on the Meb Faber show or David Steins “Money For the Rest of Us”. Remember when SPACs were all the rage. How about funds of funds? Let’s all buy a farm REIT. Hey Steve, how about we stick to relevant topics like taxes, QCD‘s, QLACS estate planning, generational, wealth, transfers, etc.

    Good interview with Robert Brokamp
Steve does a nice job in leading us through Robert Brokamp’s history with The Motley Fool and allowing Robert to shared advice and lessons learned allow the way. Steve your podcast continues to improve and I know that is intentional. Great to see!

Thanks for calling out David Chen. He got lucky. Opposite of New Retirement, Bogleheads. Blind arrogance.

Good problem to have vs real problem
I love this podcast and I will definitely follow it . In general I like YouTube video better because I can see faces, but for some reason I feel a bit more connected to his podcast. The gust and the questions seem very genuine. However, I wished there will be a topics that cover real problems not a romantic problem or a good problem to have. many of these guests have seven figure in saving. What about those that just started to save in their 40 or 50. more than 90% of the population don’t have seven figure in savings. what do we do? Does that mean we have to work until we die? I would love to hear some thoughts or does of the intelligent guest have any solutions to offer.

    Great podcast!
I’ve learned a LOT from this podcast and been introduced to some really great authors and websites along the way. If you have any interest in finance / retirement topics - you need to listen to this!

Came across the interview with Sam @ Financial Samurai - great dialogue! Thanks for hosting

    Early riser
Just finished podcast #65. I listen to many podcasts and this was in the running for the worst one. Very little useful content unless I wanted to hear two grown men use the term “like” sprinkled liberally in their conversation. Host did a poor job of bringing out content from guest. You can do much better than this!!

    Excellent Retirement Planning Info
This is an excellent retirement planning podcast, whether you’re a do-it-yourselfer or if you’re working with an advisor. Steve Chen is FANTASTIC. He doesn’t have a polished delivery, but he’s the CEO/founder of NewRetirement. He’s very intelligent and well-informed and asks great questions. He doesn’t overly promote the NewRetirement tool (which is very good for DIY’ers). Definitely worth a listen and hopefully you’ll follow.

    A Well Rounded Resource
I first discovered NewRetirement via their Facebook Group, then started using their web-based tools, and now I’m catching up on their podcasts. This was the perfect time for me to start hearing what Stephen and team are sharing, and he’s doing an excellent job of having his guests bring their expertise to this audience.

    The Whole Package
Smart guests, useful actionable advice, interesting dialogue, and a host who is very knowledgeable but doesn’t try to hog the spotlight and knows how to ask a question and get out of the way to let the guest shine.

    You know
Great guests Cut the podcast in half It’s not about you but the person you are interviewing - no need for the long rants about what you think Love it when you say got it and then mumble away about how you are way smarter than the guest - if I was the guest I would have hung up Please stop sayinng you know I don’t

    Good Guests but needs work
I recently discovered this podcast and have listened to 4 episodes. They have interesting guests with I’ve enjoyed the topics. My only complaint is that the host is hard to listen to and follow. I wish he could finish a thought and sentence. If I had a dollar for every time I hear “you know”, “kinda” or “like, you know kinda”, I believe I could retire early. A good example is episode 49 when he is interviewing a woman about time management and happiness. She is great and very well spoken. Every time Steve talks it’s cringe worthy. This may seem like harsh criticism but if you’re going to produce a podcast then work on your communication skills.

    “Got it”
I like Steve’s humble approach and well-researched questions to his array of topical interviewees. These are all business (no cheeky jokes or silly schticks) yet also entertaining and educational. I am already a NewRetirement.com user, so I appreciate that there’s no hard push or continued advertising for the base product or outside interests.

    Takes too long to start
Nice podcast, but it takes way too long to start. Host talks about guest, then guest talks about guest. I’m subscribing because I trust the podcast to invite knowledgeable guests, and honestly I do not need 10 minutes of their bio. Eventually the guest starts to speak about the topic of the day and the podcast becomes stimulating. My suggestion, less intro.

    Great interview with Christine Benz
I enjoyed your interview with Christine Benz. Hopefully she checks out your software.
  • Ready or not...for retirement
    Love the podcast focus
I love how you are bringing retirement financial and lifestyle independence to the masses. You are a skilled facilitator of the discussion. I appreciate that you summarize the main discussion points about halfway through your conversation with your guest. New Retirement is my main source of information on my personal trek to retirement. Please continue what you’re doing to update and enhance the content.

    Excellent podcast
Quality information with highly knowledgeable guests and host. Not a sales pitch. Extremely worthwhile for both retirement planning and navigating through retirement.

    Simply. Awesome. Stuff.
This not just about retirement. Rather, it’s as much about living in the moment while planning for the future. Very interesting topics, guests, and the masterful Dado manning the controls. Great listening in the car, on the bus or train, or in the gym. Listening to this makes me realize how much I really don’t know about $$.

    Great!
I really enjoy his interview style, calm approach and level headed way of running his podcast. Plus it’s entertaining and I learn something new each time. Keep up the great work Steve!

    Great Podcast
Host Steve has a tremendous amount of insight into retirement trends. He talks about real issues and practical solutions for accumulators, near-retirees and those who have already retired. Can't wait for future episodes.
  • CoachGuy
    Great topics, guest, and content
Love this new podcast--I'll be a regular listener. Host Steve Chen is a natural at getting the guest going and staying on track (in this case an engaing J.D. Roth, founder of Get Rich Slowly) and keeping it all in context of what Steve's really interested in which is viewing your retirement as an opportunity to really enjoy the second half of life. Steve is clearly a really smart guy who is encyclopedic around retirement planning and can keep it simple and understandable. Love it!
