    Loved this!
I’m just now discovering this in 2024… But it was a wonderful story and kept me engaged the entire time. I wished it was longer.

    Where is season 2?
Excellent show! One of Q Codes best in my opinion. The only thing is, you are leaving us hanging, wanting more!

Listen to the sounds & let your imaginary mind run wild
I like how story is written. We get a good sense of Raylene’s home life of a single mom trying to balance work & family life the best she can. Her father on his death bed and it appears he was working for some shady ppl and now Raylene involved. What could she be hauling? People or exotic animals? Why is someone following her or should I say the truck load? Why is her skin breaking out all of a sudden along with other symptoms since picking up this mystery cargo? What’s in that truck? The last 2 episodes use a lot of sound; you have to listen for clues as to what is going on which is hard to do. Can’t wait for season 2 to find out.

Story ok but hard to follow
The storyline is okay. There is too much time though where you don’t have a clue what is happening because all you have is sound effects. The best part was that it was relatively short so it doesn’t take too long to get to the end

    Top notch production
    Great acting and sound design.

Great acting, (confusing) ending falls flat
The first couple episodes are great and really pull you in, making you feel like you’re in that cab with Rae. However, once the mystery is gone it gets pretty boring. The last episode especially as it relies far too heavily on sound effects (in true Qcode form), with few clues as to what’s actually happening.

    Amazing
Hands down. Just amazing. Thriller all the way through. Loved it.

    Cynthia Erivo is phenomenal
Came for Cynthia, stayed for the production. Acting: superb, immersive sound: superb, production value: amazing. Great job to the cast and crew! Hurry and release the next episode (pls) !!

Too much talk and no action
This has potential. But I feel like I wasted my time. A couple episodes just felt like fillers and by the 7th I was bored and not impressed. The story goes nowhere. Also. QCODE WHY THE F*%+ CANT YOU MAKE MORE THAN ONE SEASON OF ANYTHING?! Such a constant let down!!!
  • Would like tiger pictures
    Yet another unfinished QCODE story
Why do they keep creating unfinished stories like this? At least communicate and let us know if stuff is canceled. What’s the point of a subscription to stories that end abruptly?
  • crsrone
Too much garbage, too little storyline
Neat story idea, but each episode has roughly 10 mins of q code promotional ads and show production credits per 25 minute episode. More substance, less fluff please!

    Excellent!
Loved this so much I had to binge all the episodes in one day! Great story great acting and very well done! Would love to see another season! Please :)

    Meh.
Good production value but the writing was subpar and even after a big reveal in the story, I struggle to stay interested enough to finish listening. The story lags and at times it’s hard to keep track of what is going on through all the “immersive” noise. Cynthia doesn’t really connect with this character and I thought her voice acting was rather flat.

    Great!
I am astounded by the quality of this podcast. I loved the suspense.

    Give us more!
I was hooked from the first episode and loved all the twists & turns. And the ending?!

    Tough Listen
I took for granted how well other Qcode shows are able to set a scene and put an image in my head. Tough show to follow (especially in action scenes), very short episodes, and sound effects over powered dialogue at times. Still love Qcode!

    Slow story
The voice acting was great, but the story was slow and tough to follow at times. Not my favorite QCode podcast, but I’ll keep listening.

    Sad prequel
    Neil Druckmann would be disappointed

Awesome story line, at the end of the ROAD????
Well here we have the Corona virus, and u guys are starting another flop???? Why not finish Carrier OR AT LEAST TELL US WHY NO MORE CARRIER! WTH!!! WHERE THE HECK IS RAYLENE??? WHERE? UPDATE: WTFH??? Just hoping this podcast isn’t sinking into the darkest realm of nowhere, it would be ashamed for this podcast was picking up steam, only to be cast to the curb because of poor management and abandonment of its audience !!! Just awesome, hoping it doesn’t go away, like some others that start with a bang then disappear. This horror drama is the bang, PLEASE KEEP IT COMING GUYS!!!

    Started good but....
It just lost me at episode 5. The story lagged and .... I dunno. It felt tired. Didn't end up finishing it.

    Confused at the ending
Compared to other podcasts Ive listened to, this wasn’t a big hit for me. It didn’t keep me completely immersed, like other ones have. I think the story line was kind of cheesy and honestly confusing. I get that we are kind of supposed to put it together on what we think it is and imagine how things are going when we are listening but to me the ending didn’t really resolve my confusion with this one. It was ok but not something I would listen to again or recommend to someone to listen to. QCODE is good but this one wasn’t the best.

    Excellent
I listened to this story when it was first released, and there weren’t nearly as many high quality scripted podcasts (audio dramas) to choose from. It was a lot of fun and a real pleasure. Luckily the audio drama segment is improving and growing rapidly. Especially since some production companies like QCODE are deteriorating in their delivery. They still produce good content, but their ad model is so off-putting that I tend to hesitate with new shows and have stopped following several altogether. There is more and more movie-level content being put out by folks who have found ways to finance their great quality without alienating their fans. Hopefully QCODE will do better.

    Love!!!
Cynthia Erivo is phenomenal! She makes the words come alive visually and emotionally! Can’t wait to hear more from her. Carrier is so well written!

    Kept my attention
I really liked this podcast! It was interesting enough to keep my attention and I think it is preformed very well. My only complaint is that there is nowhere near enough of it. I hope they come out with more episodes!

    5 Stars!
Good show! I enjoyed listening to it on my way to El Paso. I’m a truck driver and can relate to the main character and what she had to deal with…there are a lot of rude, ignorant jerks in the world and people do not care if you make it home or not. You need thick skin if your going to last in this industry and only we can look out for ourselves because no one else will… Also there are things you can control and things you can’t. The key is to focus on what you can and not worry about the rest. Just keep moving and may God be with you.

    So good!
When I tried to explain this to my husband, I told him it managed to be sci-fi that dealt with racism, climate change and class. I listened to it on a road trip, driving a moving truck and it was a lot of fun to hear a bit of trucker life while on the road with a whole lot of them. The sound style was more “show, not tell,” which I find pretty interesting. This meant not a whole lot of extra dialogue explaining what sounds were supposed to be (which I often find irritating), but I did catch myself wondering what was going on sometimes. Did not take away from the story at all, instead added depth and made it more immersive. Loved the characters!!! I enjoyed hearing another working mom find ways to connect with their family while far away. Such sweet moments there. Yes, I would absolutely love a second season but this felt to me more like a short story that ended perfectly - some closure but lots of ambiguity that leaves you thinking.

Very slow story, it’s annoying to listen to it drag on

When is season 2 coming out!?!?
I hit play and it was a wrap! 😁 This is probably one of my favorite podcasts so far. I am hoping season 2 comes out soon and has more Hutch in it!

    Ok over all
A good story overall. But most of the sound effects and high-pitched buzzing seem pretty forced a lot of the time. Other than that it was a pretty good story overall. But I found myself getting a headache from all the high pitch buzzing sound effects.

    Season 2
This podcast is amazing !!! But it’s from 2019. Any season 2? I check it 3 times a day for new uploads. Don’t leave us hanging. Driving a semi got me hooked to this story. :(

    Just Okay
This series had a great idea, but didn't know how to expand on it. The unimportant scenes were too long and the important scenes were too short. If I had to write a summary on season 1, it would be very short because not much happened at all. There were way more ads than story as well. The author obviously hates cops because at times I couldn't tell if the author was trying to write a story or just hate on police.

    On the road!
First time I’ve ever written a review. This hit all the marks for me: suspense, humor, excellent sound mixing, and acting! So…when can we expect another season?

    Hooked!
    Whew! 😅 I need a season 2. I’m hooked on this plot!

    ....
As a trucker, I need more. When will season 2 come out? By the time season 2 comes out we will forget what happened in 1. Lol. We want more!!! We want more!!!

    One of QCode’s best
Great concept that really works for an audio story. Erivo is also excellent. Definitely recommend.

    Exciting!!!
I want to see this as a movie!! Great story, kept me interested the whole time, huge twist at the end! Loved it!

    Eh
Felt like I listened to more ads than the show itself. Feels like it lacks elements in the story. Didn’t really hook me like their other stories.
  • Danielbrams
    Excellent
I really enjoyed the banter and the mystery of it all in episode 2 with the introduction to the character from the other truck I loved his character
  • cheese with a side of cheese
    One of the best ones
TL; DR: great sound design, great voice acting, great characters, great vibes 👍. This one’s my absolute favorite out of all the Qcode audio dramas. All of the voice acting is top notch which pairs really well with the really crisp and immersive sound design. The intro sequence with the blues music and the sound of the truck passing by scratches an itch I didn’t even know I had. The story is super intriguing and all the characters are really interesting and well written. I’m so excited for season 2.

High pitch - All the time
I enjoyed it until I couldn’t hear it any longer. The high pitch noise happens so much I had to stop listening cause it was also giving me a headache. If it didn’t have that noise so constant I’d be down to finish the episodes.
  • cabandor
Wow. Seemed like a good start, but no…
I listened to a previous show by QCode that made a lot more sense and was more enjoyable with a plot well-put together: “The Edge of Sleep.” But this… idk… the plot falls apart, and the sound effects can’t compensate (even they feel unbalanced and too soft). Not just me: I recall just reading a review by someone stating they were a truck driver who couldn’t figure out what was going on half the time. That made them want to ditch. Someone suggested a narrator, I just think more context is needed. I need to keep turning the volume up and down with the louder-than-usual ads and yelling of a character.
  • siam160
Confusing - how can you understand anything?
Some of the “conversation” are not clear - i couldn't understand the words of the other ppl except the main character Loud noises - you know something is happening but have no idea what!
  • joekingly
    Short and fun
Really enjoyed listening to it while crocheting. The story is engaging, the actors and sound effects are great, a good experience all around.
