    Phenomenal
Incredibly engaging, informative and digestible. Talking about music can be very difficult, and this show has no issue talking about tricky concepts. Frequent listeners like myself also fell very much a part of a community of fans. I recommend this frequently to anyone who has even a passing interest in mixing or music production. 5/5

    Changed My Life
I’m a bartender who first came here thinking this was a podcast about mixing drinks and listening to music. I was wrong This podcast got me so interested in mixing music that I have listened to every word of every episode… twice I quit my job at the gay bar and now work full time as a studio engineer Still drink tho. A lot.

BEST AUDIO ENGINEERING PODCAST IN THE GAME
Been listening about 3 years now, I’ve been recording professionally for about 6 years. I’ve learned more from these guys as it relates to engineering than anyone/anywhere else!
  • FSP315
    Finally…
…a podcast about audio engineering for audio engineers that isn’t insulting or redundant, with a deliverable that is actually free from poor audio, awkward leveling and sloppy edits. Thank you for walking the walk, it’s very refreshing!!

Great podcast that has a wonderful mix of regular episodes and short bite size content on music production. They guys are always dropping golden nuggets of info :-) Also enjoyed starting from the first episodes and following how they got together and have grown. Look forward to every episode 👍

    Legit!
These guys definitely know what they’re talking about. You might agree or disagree about some of the stylistic choices (there’s no right answer), but if you’re new or even fairly seasoned you can learn a ton and there are a lot of additional (though some paid) resources available that go into even more technical detail. Best I’ve found on this subject, and very useful even though it doesn’t really lean heavily into my genre. Down to earth and practical.

    Awesome information!! Appreciated..

    Amazing
Absolutely solid advice that is difficult to find. At the time of writing this review, the latest episode was about speed as being the most important aspect of your workflow. I loved the advice about printing out a list of keyboard shortcuts to keep at your desk, and highlighting the ones you want to learn. You don’t have to be the best audio engineer to get gigs. If you’re fast, do quality work, and keep the vibe going, then you are setting yourself up for success.

    My Go-To

Love the show, but the intro song…
Fantastic show. Great topics. Insightful conversation and analysis on the business and technical sides of the mixing industry. Would 10/10 recommend to any fellow producer, mixing engineer, or artist. But that intro song, cmon man. With the producer connections you guys have and even being producers yourself I would think you guys could of came up with something a little cooler 😂. “One-two-three-WHOO!” All jokes aside, great show lol.
  • BrandonBustamove
i’m gonna listen to every episode

    Best mixing podcast!
Helpful and honest advice on what it takes to be a successful audio engineer! Amazing!!
  • mimegallow
    Rambling and dangerous misinformation.
I hardly wrote bad reviews but if you’re going to tout yourself as an authority qualified to define elements of physics (as an engineer to a classroom of hopefuls and learners), you need to be that, or something like that. That is NOT what this is. It’s unfathomably inarticulate from an actual audio engineering standpoint. This is a mixer, pretending like the differences between his job (which he may be great at) and the job of an actual engineer don’t matter ... the way a dangerous cab driver might figure the differences between his job and a fighter pilot’s job don’t matter, he’s just going to explain fuel flash & depressurization by misusing words and murmering and call it good. - It’s not good. Not ok. Educate or learn. Don’t stand in the road and misdirect traffic.

    Loving this podcast
I recently discovered this podcast and it has seriously helped me wrap my head around some concepts that felt so foreign and abstract to me. Highly recommend for beginners looking to expand their knowledge of mixing.

    Sooo Good
I’ve only listened to a few episodes so far, but it’s so good! It’s really nice to hear and learn about mixing in a conversational dialog versus a constant YouTube format. Dee, thanks for promoting 6 Figure Home Studio who through them I found Creative Pep Talk. It’s all an eclectic mix... of technique, mindset, and soul searching. All of it really helps with motivation. I struggle most with lone wolf syndrome and choice fatigue the latter of which I think would make a good topic for discussion. Thanks!!
  • Duke Jam
    Great show
Dee gives a no nonsense enthusiastic analysis of the mixing process with industry heads up. His willingness to "pay it back" is refreshing. He is truly passionate about this work and a good help to those novices like myself.

  • ClassicHongyB
One of my favorite mixing podcosts
Dee Kei provides great advice for engineers not just on technique but on mindset and business as well. The episodes are short and convenient to listen to and the interviews are great. He does an amazing job going over and above to give back and provide value to engineers or anyone who wants to understand mixing better.
