sir lyWhere is Zip?Did Zip leave the show?

resentful custAs usual Spike is a cesspool of misinformationNo, Trump did not overturn Dodd Frank Spike. He changed the reporting threshold to allow smaller banks to better compete with larger banks. More competition is a good thing no matter what industry we are talking about. The 2018 banking act did NOT affect the SVB collapse. SVB is well above the reporting threshold and is therefore still bound to Dodd Frank reporting requirements. Even Barney Frank, the co-author of Dodd Frank, has admitted this.

Doug95630Am glad to hear tour podcastI really missed you guys when you left the air in Seattle. I’m in Sacramento, California and never listened OTA. I began listening many years ago before podcasts were cool. Found you through the Twisted Tunes. Loved the full cast of characters. I was happy to hear you back on the internet making podcasts. Hope to hear you again soon. My wife is an educator and every year things get crazy at the beginning of the school year. Enjoy the late summer break, but please resume once it’s right.

Tanker from BuckleyBest thing I’ve found I awhileI’ve missed hearing these voices. Just found them again and it’s amazing how they haven’t skipped a beat. Definitely helps my negative attitude. Thank you!!! Bob, Spike, and Joe!!!!!!! You guys are doing more than you think!!!!

Philngood365247They're back!Looking forward to many more episodes guys! Love joe’s passionate political views!
-
estoadOld friends have returnedReally great to hear the three of you on the air again. The political rants can get a little old, but if someone doesn’t want to hear it they can tune out. Although I am thinking of starting a drinking game. Take a shot every time Joe says “I’m not going to get political, but”.

Anna GemJoe is RightI’m making twice as much $$ in Florida via re-employment than I was working, but that’s because of the 600/week stimulus. Florida wages are very low, so twice as much isn’t a living wage for everyone here! But some people might just milk it. Thank you all for being a bright light in a dark time. Be well & safe! And Andrew...don’t give up. You are brilliant and will be fine. Hang in there. P.S. Keep being yourselves and talking about what you want. I’m psyched you’re on the air and I can still listen to you. It brings back many good memories of my 25 years living outside Seattle!

Scamper CatGood start, all downhill from thereStarted out great, with lots of reminiscing about Bob, Spike and Joe’s days on Seattle radio. Had the potential to be like NPR’s “Car Talk”—guys sitting around, making wisecracks and telling stories. (“Car Talk” is so well made that it does not suffer significantly in reruns, even many years after the initial airing.) The Bob Rivers Show spiralled in when it recently became three guys talking about the same political ideas over-and-over again. In the middle of a pandemic and an ugly election season, the last thing needed is another political podcast. Dull and depressing. It would be best for the three very talented hosts to go back to their roots, and emphasize their song parodies and talk about great rock-’n-roll. Or, better yet, use their connections to get some famous and new rock musicians toemphasise and talk with them.

JHarsenThank You! ❤️❤️❤️Every Christmas we gather to sing in three part harmony your Twisted Christmas version of the ‘carol of the bells’ (I’ll have 38 years sober in mid January, hubby has 26 years sober last September)... I grew up in the Pacific NW and missed you all terribly when we moved to NY 20 years ago. My darling husband makes sure we have every bob rivers album ever made. Finding your podcast has been wonderful, you are truly gifted artists and thoughtful people!! I’ll never forget the “legalized gambling report” — we look at our 401k so much differently because of it. Thank you so much! for decades of joy that transcends the generations. My son, now serving in Okinawa, asked for a copy of Twisted Christmas for his own when he was sent overseas 2 years ago. Now we get to listen to your weekly podcast. You are a tradition of laughter and intelligent commentary that our whole family embraces. Thank you again. You are a treasure.

CarolADYBright spot in my yearSo happy to hear your voices again! It brings back a great nostalgia of years when I drove for a living and the highlight of my days was listening to all of you in the morning. I don’t think I’ve been this excited since your return after the “dark year” (though I’m happy to hear that you all got paid during that time, and if I remember correctly there were some great new Twisted Tunes when you came back). Thanks for being a bright spot in my 2019!
-

timmarrrrLukas NelsonHi Bob, I was listening to your latest podcast and you were having a discussion about Lukas Nelson. You said that he wrote Shallow from A Star is Born. Not altogether true. It was written by Lady Gaga along with 3 other co writers (none of which are LN). I’ve seen POTR a couple times and most recently when they opened for the Stones in Seattle. Lukas Nelson is an amazing talent and I think for me he has somewhat filled that huge void that was left with the passing of Tom Petty. I know, big shoes to fill but he is someone who is on the rise! Love the new podcast! I’ve been a fan since Bob and Shawn first landed in Seattle!
-
