eloisineIsrael and IranI appreciated how your conversation pointed out how despite that most citizens’ worldwide desire to avoid war, peacekeeping is framed as politically unpopular. I was left considering how defense contract interests and lobby impact policy around war. Is it another case where things that are grossly unpopular benefit a few elite billionaires, and therefore become politically advantageous? I also feel like something that we leave out of the conversation is what scientists are warning us about climate change, and how we need global cooperation immediately to prevent our literal demise. War, like the protection of unfettered capitalism at all costs, disables our ability to implement creative and meaningful changes necessary to prevent totally ecocide and suffering on a global scale. Also isn’t the toxicity released In bombing uranium sites going to impact those areas for thousands of years? Like your guest said… in our discourse humanity of the people on the ground is completely ignored. The conclusion I come to is that we have learned that these types of wars never work in the long-term, they create instability, they are unpopular with the people, they cause generations of human suffering and potentially will be a form of collective suicide. And yet….

TED Ted Equals DoomFiscal Impacts of Immigrants on the NationIn the May 21 podcast Jon Stewart asked his 2 guest why no-one had addressed the question of what immigrants actually do for the country, in a detailed way. In fact, such a study was published by The National Academies Press in 2017. It showed that immigrants pay a net positive in federal taxes, but cost a net negative in state outlays. The combined effect is a slight positive. My interpretation is that immigrants are paying for federal programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid for everyone. AlofnvfudbInformed, logical, reasonableLet me start by reminding the 2 people who gave this show a 1-star review that it's produced by Comedy Central. If you can't take a joke or handle opinions that aren't quotes from Fox News talking points, then this pod is going to go over your head. A host is a college professor so maybe hop over to the bald man with a 2-digit IQ because he'll protect your feelings.

WMFB78Jon Stewart for president!Jon Stewart is one of the most well informed, smartest comics out there. He’s so smart and articulate that you forget he’s actually a comedian… he also has great guests who are equally well informed, this is a fantastic conversational interview podcast.

KvjoBill Reilly YuckI’ve never been so frustrated by a guest as Bill Reilly. That man is awful and totally rewrites the timeline to Covid to suit his narrative. He is over the top annoying. Jon did excellent holding his cool with such an annoying liar.

Random reviewer 15438Jon Stewart - Josh Shapiro 2028I love hearing Jon Stewart more than once a week now with this podcast. We need a president and a vice president with common sense like you Jon Stewart and Josh Shapiro. We need you and Shapiro to implement universal healthcare, education for all, a better education system, 20 dollars for the minimum wage, billionaires pay 70% of taxes and the middle class pays 30%, the U.S. debt payed off, more industrialism, the Ukraine Russian war to be done, reducing AI by a lot because it has gotten out of hand, and the whole world run by nuclear energy. Jon Stewart please run in 2028.

329uk_53hbn-Democratic Party ReckoningDuring this democratic party reckoning, shouldn’t your podcast also be hosting the little people like Dem political candidates who Trump voters ALSO voted for but who may not have won? Like Dr. Kristin Hook (D) who ran for Congress 2024 for TX 21st district? While she lost, Trump voters also voted for her! She also received zero funding from the DCC. Shouldn’t you invite more perspectives like her who can share lessons learned and how to influence Republican voters to vote for candidates like her? Love your heavy hitter guests but would also love to hear the stories of folks on the ground who can paint a more realistic pictures of how Dems are responsible for losing the 2024 election but how they can have a path forward to the midterms and 2028.

A14obxThe Three Jon’sThe show was A great example of the pundit- sphere telling us the obvious with lots of blah, blah, blah. They really didn’t have much too add. A wasted hour listening. Jon Stewart, I’m a great fan of your show and the staff that makes it possible. seriously, you usually have much more insightful guests/discussions.

Canford4433Jon Saves America? EpisodeI really enjoy listening to these podcasts and hearing the different opinions of people I have never really heard of before. But this episode was a bit harder to really find any new thoughts or ideas in, or find very interesting at all. In a previous episode, one of the guests mentions how the two party political system, where independents aren’t able to really have a voice in primaries or other big midterm type elections, really skews the polls and perspectives on what the American people are really feeling/wanting. This episode focused so much on how the Democrats can get power back and win in 2028 etc, when really, I think this whole current political situation our country is in should be clearly showing us, the system doesn’t work anymore. We can’t survive in this ping pong back and forth power struggle between two parties that ends up being a battle for power and dismantling whatever the previous winning party did. The people are tired of this. We want change. Not a change in party. A change in the whole system of thought and action. No one wins when it’s just a power struggle, especially not the people. We need new ideas, new ways of operating and really rising to our true potential to be a unified democracy that cares for the freedoms and wellbeing of all, not just our citizens, but the world too. We can be wonderful leaders, if we knew how to use wisdom, justice, love, empathy, and humility in our actions as a Nation at home and on the global stage.

Leff1980Jon Stewart 2028!Please run Jon. You said someone from outside will have to.

SoCalMom805The Biden distractionI’m not sure discussing Biden is the best idea because we’re loosing our democracy and that feels like a bigger issue. Please stay focus on what’s happen right now.

Lee EsqBiden ability.Biden gave one of the best state of the union speeches. ever 110 days before that debate. He ad libed , even negotiated a deal with the R’s Obama got heckled and froze.

u2hwvbsuwFor-profit PresidencyThis has been a problem with the White House for many years now. Trump is hardly the first president to profit picking their best interest over the country’s. The Clinton Foundation at least tried hiding the profit they made while in charge. Trump just isn’t hiding it.

Nate12and35Bad endingsI enjoy the thoughtful, lighthearted discussion on the well chosen topics. However, I’ve stopped listening to the last few minutes of the episode, when the other people that work on the podcast join Jon. The fawning over Jon is disgusting really, and nothing is added to the debate. You could definitely do without those endings!

Victoria, A humble listenerAre you there Congress?I absolutely loved this latest episode! It was very informative, insightful and, dare I say, hopeful? I did not know Problem Solvers Caucus existed, or tbh Fitzpatrick and Suozzi. I really appreciate learning about them and what they want to accomplish. Gave me the most hope I’ve had in months.

Alison McGCorporate ad revenueMcDonalds? Really? Do you need ad revenue so bad you’ll take it from massive corporations that are literally poisonous? This feels hypocritical and it’s a major pet peeve for justice-oriented pods. You can do better. Love, Ali

Bizarro CrazyDEI? You’re fired!Love Heather McGee: she’s brilliant, and I agree with your take on the topic, but… Your dismissal of the issues of men in general, as if they have no complaints, was, I think…bad? yeah, bad. mostly bad. Because I think everyone is kinda dumb, and most people are dumber than that, and I believe boys/men are growing up with WAY too much blame on them and the idea that they are inherently immoral, while they are still burdened with huge expectations to succeed as a “man.” Jonathan Haidt has taken this on in response to imbalanced success among men/boys in education and in the blue collar success/opportunity. While the Right is taking this legitimate frustration/phenomenon and using it to make men more red-state, the Left is making fun of it, calling it ridiculous: no wonder we’re losing men. We need MORE Tim Walzs, Doug Emhoffs, and maybe a few guys like The Rock to represent us, but we also need a recognition that we offer the best kind of life for the best kind of men. We need to convince them that we care about them, even if you think men are so privileged. And may I compliment you on your recognition that privileged is a charged word. Thanks

SCampbell_79Best interviews - always informativeJon always has the most informative interviews and he does the background work to make the interviews this way. He’s genuine and doesn’t hold back, regardless of party lines.

K2 D2Who is Government? As a former federal employee and the spouse of a 30 year career professional I truly appreciate the message that Michael Lewis is getting out there and Jon’s conversation with him and recognition of the importance of career federal employees. My husband could have gone into the private sector and done anything he wanted to but chose a career in public service because he believes in the mission of his agency. Watching DOGE and the Trump administration berate federal workers and destroy agencies with a sledgehammer is so sad. These workers do not deserve the treatment they are getting and the irreparable damage that is being done is disheartening.

Firefighter TSGreat AdvocacyBelow is from The Secret List -Firefighters Close calls. Don’t know how else to contact Mr. Stewart. He has done great advocacy for WTC survivors and this is part of the article. Please pass along to Mr. Stewart, It just came out today (April 2). I am a firefighter and cancer survivor. Thank youAs DOGE continues to take action against what they perceive as waste or unnecessary programs, the fire service feels another measurable cut. It appears the NIOSH Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation and Prevention Program (and other firefighter programs, discussed below) has died in the line of duty. (Scroll down for the latest NIOSH LODD reports that have been released) As of 0500 hours this morning, hundreds of employees have been terminated (or told to expect it), including Firefighter LODD investigations (the Cincinnati office which handles medical LODDs, the Morgantown WV Office which handles traumatic LODDs, and the Pittsburgh office which houses the PPE section), WTC health, and National Firefighter Registry Cancer programs. The union employees get 90 days pay plus severance-non union troops 60 days plus severance. Created by Congress in 1970 to protect workers, NIOSH studies how to keep workplaces safe. NIOSH is part of the CDC and oversees several firefighter health and safety programs, including the registry to track cancer in firefighters and a health program for people affected by the 9/11 terror attacks. We thought that the WTC 9/11 health program was re-funded and stable but it appears it may not be. While all of these cuts are measurably impactful, the WTC one is especially upsetting as so many continue to suffer the impacts of America being attacked in 2001. There is a long history of the fire service strongly supporting the voluntary LODD investigation program and a long history of us fighting to get it properly staffed and funded. NIOSH was created to protect workers.

Clever Username 2Can’t recommend highly enoughJon Stewart brings on fascinating guests and holds discussions with them that challenge the viewpoints of listeners on all sides and help us to better understand what’s actually happening in government in an entertaining and accessible way. Everyone should listen to this podcast! Just turn it on!

Happier in FloridaBrilliant and mind blowingThe show is always informative and entertaining. The discussion with Ezra Klein regarding his new book Abundance was brilliant. The deep dive into the bureaucracy holding the US back from reaching our goals was mind blowing!

🪄🌟❤️🔥BandaidsListening to democrats’ process for bringing a well intentioned plan for broadband to life reminds me of every single non-profit grant making process I’ve ever been a part of. Thanks for this interesting perspective. Liberals. We’re not quite nailing it. Yet.
