I love the Angola stories having grown up hearing them from family and friends who worked there! Jim is an amazing storyteller and I love it even more now that he is solo!

Came for George Thomas’s side of the story, stayed for history of Angola. One of the best podcast I’ve found in a while.

Excellent story-telling by two down-home local boys. Being a lifelong Louisiana native, I am surprised I did not already know all of this history. I’ve started from the beginning, looking forward to hearing how the history of Bloody Angola unfolds.

The show is great and very informative which I love. I’m a north Louisiana native that has worked in DOC and was wrongfully terminated by DOC(didn’t break any laws lol) I’m glad the Supreme Court has looked into this state because it’s truly sad how behind the times the DOC and other government agencies are. No money is put into staff, equipment nor training. Pay is behind times as well. Thanks for covering this.

I love listening to you guys, there’s so much I can relate to as I was incarcerated back in the early 70s in Texas at the walls unit and then at the Wynn unit, worked out in the fields chopping that cotton had a Aggie in my hand for 5 years before I made trusty, it was brutal back then..

I recently went to the Angola Rodeo and fell down the rabbit hole of Angola and its dark history. Something about Angola is so mysterious and intriguing… Driving through the gates put me on edge even though the drive past the gates to the arena is gorgeous. While walking around and being surrounded by unrestrained inmates in the arts and crafts section, I bought a few things. I had nothing but pleasant and respectful interactions with the inmates and decided to search their names from my craft tickets to see what they had done and how they ended up in Angola… All I can say is WOW. I read several court documents that described the crimes they had committed… I was within arms reach of many lifers w/o parole and purchased several items from them… The thought of them murdering people years prior was more of an afterthought than an initial perception. I am not sure what I was expecting their crimes to be, but I can tell you that if I had come into contact with them in any other setting outside of Angola, I would presume them to be normal individuals without a dark past. That drove me even further down the rabbit hole. I then came across this podcast through my search and have listened to an episode/watched the youtube version every chance I get since. On my way to and from work, on my daily walks with my dogs, and when I am cleaning my house I have it on. I am so happy to see that you guys are still producing more episodes and cannot wait to get further into it! 10/10 recommend for anyone considering it!

I paid $10 and still getting ads. Cancelled chase team membership- not worth it. Love the episodes with Jim only. Woody tries too hard to come across as intellectual and as a result the tangents are endless.

The show is interesting but the advertisements ruin everything. I am paying $10 a month but the commercials are still playing. This is terrible. Life is too short to listen to commercials.

Would love to here more stories from DCI. I worked there for 10yrs.

Started with real life real crime and than they mentioned this one. Found myself making excuses to listen to it instead of my tv. Like a book you can’t put down. You can tell the effort they put into the information and not exaggerating for views just the facts.

Jim your voice is very calming. I generally have a hard time sleeping and your voice just lulled me to sleep. Lol. Probably not what your aiming for, but there you have it. I have repeated recommended your podcasts to friends. Keep doing what your doing gentlemen, your rocking it!

Hey fellas! I am a massive fan of Bloody Angola and RLRC. I’ve literally listened to every episode! But this one, “Duck” is the best one yet!!! Wow! And I am OBSESSED with you two, Woody and Jim, but this one blew me away! Y’all can add Duck to the regular schedule. I could have listened to y’all chatting all day! Unreal! Keep it up guys. Y’all are unmatched!

Really have liked hearing about life in the hardest of prisons one could be in. Woodys really experience and stories of inmates, security staff and the early days of Angola. Have you (I haven’t looked) done an episode with Patrick Brown? Interesting story.

In 2009 my stepfather was sentenced to life at Angola for the aggravated rape of my sister and me. I remember the ADA saying “Being there… You’ll never have to worry about him again.” Now I can fully comprehend what he meant! I especially love hearing the history of Angola. Woody and Jim tell it so well!!

Learning about the history of The Angola plantation and the prison is unbelievable. The stories about the inmates and how prison is substantial. Keep the good stories coming

I found this podcast after visiting Angola while in a police academy. Everything is spot on. Woody and Jim are knowledgeable, humorous, and deliver a great show. 10/10 do recommend!

I must confess, I did not find this podcast - my daughter did and delivered it to me on a silver plater. I always listened to audiobooks books while driving, now it’s one of 3 podcasts.

I was a CO before going on Road Patrol, what I learned in the jail how to stay alive kept me alive on the road. Thanks for bringing out the stories of the guards and inmates. I binge on the stories from Woody and Jim. God bless you both .

RLRC fan here. I just binged the entire RLRC catalogue. Loved it. So naturally I jumped to Woody’s latest podcast. Good stories, but the fact that I’m 30 minutes in, and the story still hasn’t started is WILD!!! I’m still in the first few episodes, so I’m hoping this gets better in later episodes. I hate that I had to leave anything less than a rave review, because this show has so much potential. Plus I love Woody’s content. Just some constructive criticism.
