Israel: State of a Nation

Israeli spokesman Eylon Levy has been the global media’s #1 address for understanding Israel’s perspective in the October 7 War with Hamas. In the State of a Nation podcast, Eylon brings his idiosyncratic blend of “eloquence and ability to transmit outrage” (The Times) and “rhetorical tour de force” (The Guardian) to his exclusive channel, to explore the most pressing questions facing the Jewish state – and all with patience and panache.

State of a Nation takes you into the spokesperson’s briefing notes, delving into the real stories and their surprising details. The series invites listeners into insider conversations with thinkers, policymakers, and media personalities — conversations that take you between the lines and beyond the headlines.

    Ittay
What I was hoping to hear was not that Ittay’s E Jerusalem Palestinian coworkers condemn Hamas attack on Oct 7 because of any sympathy for Jewish or Israeli victims but simply that they are rational enough to recognize what a disaster Hamas and their allies were bringing down on Gaza. And unfortunately they didn’t even do that and that’s supposed to be the Palestinian moderates? Their “moderates” are farther from being peaceful than Israeli extremists. Ben-Gvir’s 6% of the Israeli vote would be a moderate faction in the PLO.

Excellent podcast and shows the bankruptcy of the left. Elon don’t waste your time with these people. They are lightweights and not intellectually honest or smart for that matter.

    Fantastic and important podcast
Incredible work being done by Eylon Levy and this podcast is a must listen on Israel & the middle east

    Lots of good points
This podcast is well to the right of me politically on issues like the rights of trans people and the idea of a monolithic “West” that is somehow more virtuous than other cultures. That said, they speak to Israel’s predicament on the global stage with clear eyes and great resolve. That’s why I tune in. I’d love to hear interviews with liberal Zionists that can establish more of a dialogue rather than just people mostly agreeing with each other.

    A Voice For Israel
In a world where Israel can seemingly do no right, Eylon Levy and his guests dare to speak the truth amidst the propaganda. He is not afraid to push back on his guests’ statements (although sometimes they end up talking over each other, but this might be par for the course for the always-outspoken Israelis!) and his love for his country and people shines through. His selection of guests is impressive and diverse. Definitely worth listening to, if you care to hear a perspective you won’t get from most media sources.

    Worth listening to
But not every episode. Depends on the guest chosen. Largely excellent choices

    That Spaulding guy
Horribly misogynistic. Why do gay men hate women so much? The majority of pro-Palestinian students are male. Can’t even be arsed.

    Gratitude to Eylon Levy
Truthful, difficult conversations, looking at the problem of antisemitism deeply, layers and layers of important work needed to be done. I am very grateful as media is drown in the sensationalism and meaningless rhetoric. Thank you! Thank you!

Why bother having guests at all?
At this point I don’t understand why Eylon even bothers having guests on the show. He constantly interrupts or cuts off his guests mid thought to interject his own opinion, and it is unbearable. As much as we all love Eylon, we follow his podcast to hear what his guests have to say. Please let your guests speak!

    So, so good.
Eylon’s commentary and interviewing skills are razor sharp, and he gives you a super clear look at what’s going on in the Jewish world today.

    Let your guests speak
The point of this show should be to hear your impressive guests; however, you speak over them at times so frequently that it is insufferable. For example, most recently with Prof Steinberg discussing NGO corruption. There was perhaps the world’s foremost expert in this topic, yet you did not let him speak for even 30 seconds without interruption. Go back and listen to it. Please have Steinberg back and let him explain things more. And stop interrupting - applies to all of your guests.

    Eylon Levy is a gift
We realized very early on that the truth of what was happening in Israel was not reaching the United States; that in fact, we in the diaspora were being manipulated by a media bias that was obfuscating the truth intentionally. He is amazing

Telling truth to a deaf world
Maybe after all the critiques you can use a little admiration Thank you for explaining how Israel was dragged into war and also for standing up for the Jewish state Here in America so many Jewish voices have been shamed into silence and the forces that want to destroy Israel…and maybe all Jews… take advantage of that Truth vs misinformation is so important Thanks again and please keep at it You are needed. Oh as a review you get 5 stars

    Insightful show
Thank you for this important show. It also seems that you’re taking the critique of other reviewers and not interrupting anymore. Sometimes when you try to lighten up the mood, it’s cringe-worthy. But that’s a tiny critique. Overall this is an incisive, analytical and nuanced podcast, much-needed.

    Listen to your guests, please
Eylon - please stop interrupting and cutting of your guests prematurely because very often these people are not able to make their points - you get excellent guests but they can only make half statements before you interrupt or come at them with another question. Listen to other interviewers who allow space in an interview and say virtually nothing - let your guests make your points for you. At first, I thought maybe these interruptions were one-off, but no, they are a consistent pattern and you should work harder to let your guests get their points across. It is very frustrating to have someone like Douglas Murray, for example, an incredible speaker and someone the world needs to hear from in this moment, but he is not able to make a complete point due to your interruptions.

Great Job. Thank you for continuing with your podcast. You are a Mench. Keep up what you are doing. You did a great job as the Spokesman and it was a terrible what happened. Who knew the Brits were so thin skinned. Maybe they should look what's going on in their country.

There is a clear and present danger to the existence of Israel and Jews every where. Here is a fearless Jewish voice against progressivism and its Jew hating and Israel bashing ideology spreading throughout the West. Never give in. Never give up.

Let Your Guests Finish Their Thoughts
Eylan— There were so many times you interrupted the Rabbi when he was talking about what the ANC was doing. For example he mentioned that the ANC went to Tehran and you cut him off. I wanted to hear more about that. Then you kept interrupting other times when the Rabbi was explaining about the ANC’s actions and the reason behind their actions. He was trying to impart what was at least, to me, information I had never heard before. It’s important to let your guests speak.

    Nothing Like It
To say that this podcast is a breath of fresh air would be an enormous understatement. Eylon, by the way, is an official spokesman for Israel so if you don’t get it, that’s understood. But if you want to get it from an historical perspective and you haven’t brushed up on your Extremists and Zionists and everything in between, this podcast is for you! Listen and learn with an amazing host and extraordinary guests - NOT talking heads. Eylon goes the extra to find underrepresented voices meaning you haven’t heard this interview before on any major outlets. Gay Lebanese-Israeli? Got it! Christian Hollywood Israel loving actor? Yes! The list goes on. That’s what makes it such a breath of fresh air.

Eylon Levy is heroic & unflappably defending our right to exist
This is an important podcast. It will save lives telling the truth & fighting the lies & propaganda. Thank you Eylon Levy.

Gazan and PA children deserve a dignified education
Eylon Levy’s interview with Marcus Sheff, UNWRA expert, is so disturbing that it shakes you to the bones. The UN, with millions of US and European dollars, has been brainwashing Palestinian children for decades to glorify martyring themselves and learning from 1st grade on to hate Israelis/Jewish people. Since Hamas’s 10/7 attack it is especially tragic that after their child-minds were martyred once, they are truly being martyred again. But there is hope. Sheff, a Middle East education specialist speaks about the radical change in Saudi Arabia, UAE, and other countries there to create and use curricula and textbooks that focuses on Islamic values of peace and education. The anti-Jewish texts of the past are almost gone in many moderate Arab countries. Sheff says UNWRA must go but the educational fix when Gaza is re-built is as simple as swapping out the UNWRA and Palestinian Authority’s PDF’s for a respectful curricula that values every Palestinian child’s dignity and intelligence. What’s not simple is to gather the international support to demand a new agency with a mandate to educate to build peace and tolerance in the Middle East. We can do this.

    Finally!
A voice has come through all of the shouting. Those that are carrying signs not truly understanding what they are shouting about owe it to themselves and the future to any potential peace to listen to this podcast. Elon is the light needed to shine on the problems and potential solutions. This first episode shows how the UNWRA education system sows seeds of hate and Jihad in children from the time they enter their school system.

Can’t wait to go behind the scenes with Eylon as he learns from others and prepares for his media appearances. Looking forward to learning from Eylon and his amazing guests. “Wit beyond measure is man’s greatest treasure.”

    Redefining Government Comms
Eylon Levy has been redefining what it means to be a government spokesman since the Hamas War started on 10/7. Rather than standing behind a podium making weak statements in diplomatic speak, he’s been taking the fight right to Hamas and the journalists and institutions who embrace it. Can’t wait to listen
