Both hosts begin by stating that they can’t imagine being in the step moms shoes…. Then absolutely verbally eviscerate her and borderline glorify the cheating husband …and then concede that step mom was in a psychological state that is not understood by either host. To be clear, of course no one deserves murder. I usually love and agree with the tone of this show. I’ve listened for years… but as someone who has been through an even more severe level of infidelity I take issue with the heavy commentary that sides with a man who shredded a family. I’m bummed at the tone deaf chunk of this episode as well as the later tone change to admit that she was not in her right mind…. It seems off. Which is it? Did the step mom willingly fail or did she end up in a psychological state beyond her control???

2 stars because i enjoy the way they talk about the case .. whenever they eventually get around to it. it’s really hard to get through how easily distracted and off topic they can become. once they’re done being distracted, a commercial comes. i love their personalities, they’re more fit for comedy .. true crime is too serious to joke around with. Also I’m confused on how you can bash someone “as a mother” and speak highly of a man who has driven a woman to a point of not return. Until you’ve experienced being cheated on terribly, please stop the hypotheticals.

I’ve been listening to Morbid since 2021 and I was such a fan until now. I am so disappointed in the change. It used to be so funny and they had great takes on different cases. Lately, it’s become so judgmental and close minded. The most recent episodes over 2025 have been my breaking point. Throughout the episodes, they are always saying the same things such as “it’s beyond” and “it’s giving…” which is just boring. I expect better, especially from Alaina, an author. But this last episode with the killer of David, part one, it was my breaking point. At one point they were so horrible to the killer, who was OBVIOUSLY mentally ill, that i had such a visceral reaction. Especially when Ash said “if you don’t agree, you’re stupid.” You don’t get to say that. You don’t get to judge other for how they view a situation. How could you say that it’s okay for a 16 year old to punch her step mother but it’s not okay for her step mother to attack the other woman? What the heck? It is not okay to set a standard and break it later. They even acknowledged it! And they still didn’t care at all. They laughed it off. How insulting, especially considering they like to talk about the psychology of things… I understand taking a stand for the victims. But before, they used to acknowledge the mental illness. They didn’t until the end and even then, it was minimal. Anyway, I am so disappointed and I think I’m done listening. I hope the best for the ladies and I hope that they can grow out of this judgment and borderline hatred.

So excited to see these episodes on David and Clara Harris. I was in county jail (I used to be a bad girl) when she was brought in. I met her kids and parents in the visitation area and we went to prayer group together.

I started listening to Morbid on a work trip I took last year and have been hooked since. I went back to the beginning and have listened solidly since and am starting episode 404 right now. I’m not sure what I will do when I am caught up because my morbid girlies join me for every chore, car ride, travel trip, or slight available moment that I may squeeze into my chaotic schedule, and are quite literally my best friends who don’t know I exist. Listen and keep it weird 😍

I love these two women. They are so educated on what they are talking about, and if they aren’t they are the first to admit it. They are hilarious and brutal, honest and raw. My go to show all day at work. Probably need less true crime on my own life, but Ash and Alaina not only tell horrificly engrossing tales, but they make my crack up. Amazing job!!!!

Oh no. These two women haven’t lived long enough to be so judgmental. It is crazy how they moralize constantly. I just don’t get how this podcast can be so popular. I listened to it for a while and I liked the stories but lately they have become absolutely untenable. Also, they’re constantly saying as a mother this as a mother that and you know what you don’t have to be a mother to have values and morals. Just stop please.

There are two women speaking, but one of them sounds like they are 1000 miles away. How can you produce a show but not fix the sound quality in post? Ladies, I’d love to listen to your podcast but the amateur sound engineering is a no-go. It’s so distracting, I can’t focus on the stories.

They are absolutely beautiful humans who handle these cases with the upmost respect for the victims Also their personalities are amazing and all i gotta say is I HAVE A BIG FAT LESBIAN CRUSH ON YOU BOTH!

Simply put, I came here to listen to an interesting true crime story. What I got was ten minutes of two women chatting about inside jokes or just about anything that wasn’t the story. If you’re into listening to these two hosts chum it up without any actual content, this is the show for you!

I’ve been listening to you guys since I left my abusive husband whilst active duty army in 2019; you guys rock out loud, thank you for always being a healthy outlet! Also, regarding the ‘Gray Stiles’ episode… *murders daughter’s fiancé in planned, cold blood– gets 15yrs probation* *contract kills your mother’s CRUEL and abusive husband, gets 25-life* Justice is a joke 🙄

This weeks episode on David Harris was wildly judgmental. I’ve found they tend to be very judgy, almost cruel and very much lacking in nuance ANY time the offender is a woman? I usually ignore it because pick mes are gonna pick me and it’s not an often occurrence because the lack of female offenders. However this particular episode I found sickening. Those twins were only 3 years old. PPD can last up to YEARS or even the rest of a mother’s life. The lack of empathy and consideration for Clara and all this woe is David made me sick. Only thing I didn’t roll my eyes at is the response towards the daughter. Do better, yikes.

I JOINED Wondery because of the fresh, bright, foul language from these two characters… and I am currently listening to the entire catalog. I especially love their mutual RANTS of effenheimers when women and children are badly treated. Unique in this space! I love Morbid!

Long time listener and I am completely disgusted by the coverage of the Exorcisim episode. Ash was very clearly reading from a script and admitted multiple times that she just could not be bothered to look up additional information about Catholic rituals and beliefs. Alaina continuously filled the episode with inane and rude banter even stating that you have to use a southern accent to make fun of Catholicism. This episode was so beneath the quality and respect that these ladies typically bring to their show. The maturity level really tanked into the gutter with this coverage.

I heard about this podcast about 6 months ago, started listening from the beginning and wasn’t so sure about it, only got about 5 episodes in and had to quit. But recently, I thought I should try again but start at random, more recent episodes. They have definitely grown and gotten more professional, basically found their groove. I am now completely hooked. I love these girls!

I found this pod cast a couple of years ago and am working my way through start to finish. I feel like I’ve gotten to know the hosts and I love their banter as much as the cases and tales they deliver. I listen ALL the time. Getting ready for work, cooking dinner, walking the dogs, commuting, and yes, going to sleep. My husband doesn’t get it but hey, he doesn’t have to. Alaina is now an author and I just read her first book the butcher and the wren, and am currently reading the second, the butcher game. SO GOOD! I’m a fellow new englander who spent many years in Austin. I hope Alaina and Ash always have this podcast. Keep it weird y’all!

OK, I just got to the part of the episode of where you said the cult leader of the Chicago Ripper crew worked for John Wayne Gacy, so do you remember when you covered his story how one of the victims said there might’ve been a second person in the room well, what if the leader of this crew was that second person?

I loved the show until they included a new app that they claim to be a ghost named Nicholas. It’s distracting and childish. I hope they remove that element. It’s not as enjoyable as before.

Like many others have said, this whole Nicolas thing is super annoying and not at all friendly for people with audio issues. It’s not entertaining at all. It’s just weird and hard on the ears. That combined with all the ads now and the way they discuss things is tarting to feel more immature now just has me hanging on by a thread at this point. Hopefully they start to listen to their reviews.

I want to love this podcast, but the ladies really like to go off topic. Which I don’t Mind once in a while but it’s so annoying how long they drag out their tangents.

I love listening to the pod but please no more visits from electric voice spirit; the way it triggers the Misophonia is horrible and I can’t listen to this episodes and I can’t skip those parts because “he” just pops in. Please no more 😖😖😖😖 Update: so sad I couldn’t listen to my fave episodes of the pod the “Listener Tales” because of Nicholas…it would be great to have time stamps to skip his parts. It’s too distracting. I’m sad because otherwise I really love the pod.

This is something you can force yourself to listen to when you’re done with the good true crime podcasts. You know those girls from high school that never grew up and always thought they were too cool for school? Well here they are. Same language, same ego, same same. Once you get into the crime aspects of the show, the same ol’ high school girls lingo carries on throughout the entire show. I have come back to this show so many times after hearing other podcasters mention it (wondery) and always find myself asking the same question.. why?

Long time listener here! the spooky listener tales have easily become my favorite content but the tangents have become more frequent and less on topic and they’re using immature language, making the stories difficult to listen to and i wind up turning off the podcast. Even in the regular true crime episodes they seem to go off topic and add their own random opinions too often. And Nicholas has to go! It’s not funny or scary, it’s distracting and ridiculous

I have been listening to morbid off and on for years. I haven’t listened to any podcasts in a while and saw the witch episode and decided to listen. Could not finish it because of Nicolas.
