———-GWeird Darkness is the best!I’m usually not into horror or just flat out creepy stuff but it does fascinates me. I much rather listen to it than actually watch it on screen. This gives me that outlet to do so and I love the host who makes it possible. Great narrator. I definitely have enjoyed and learned a lot. I even share what I take from here with others. Keep up the amazing work. I definitely look forward to listening to more episodes.

MarinerfiskA podcast rockPodcasts come and podcasts go. Some you love for a bit, but they fade. Not this one, it remains a favorite for a long time now and always something for everyone.
-
Kannyponts😌Love it here
-
AmyJeepsSo. Many. Commercials.Has more commercials than any other podcast I've heard! Plus the episodes are the same stories recycled over, and over again.
-
Juniper619Thank You Mr. MarlarThank you for all the effort and attention to detail you put into your Podcast! My favorites are the ghost stories and Old Time Radio.
-
JBaconator913 Stars but not because it’s a bad show at allThis is more of a personal preference than an actual issue or negative reflection on the show, though I do enjoy the variety I do wish some topics got more attention. I understand you can’t have both. You can either have in depth or variety topics in an episode but maybe start doing some Deep Dive episodes mixed in where you take your hit topics and instead of a 10-15 minute segment give them a whole hour or so to themselves to really get into and give all the details. Just my personal opinion, Jack Of All Trades is great until you need a master of one. That’s all.

strideamLove it!Best podcast ever! I never miss a episode

sclb71Great job!Only bad part are the casino ads.
-
JeepinoldmanGreat podcast! This guy works harder than an ugly stripper to bring us this podcast multiple times a week. Always great stories.

Mandi0487Love this showI love that this show has all kinds of weird things about all different subjects. I listen to this podcast instead of music while I’m driving now. It’s always fresh and interesting, and I’m always captivated until the end. I also love his endings with a bible verse. It’s an amazing show and I hope you keep making it!! I tell everyone to listen too!

orinoco500One of The Best, it used to be. (Update)I am sad to rewrite this review, I never had any complaint and really enjoy the podcast, even with all the rrepeats is was good but latetly they have been combining episodes with retor radio and I don't like it because I don't get to choose what I want to listen. Please go back to separating the retor radio with the regular episodes. ( I believe the creator of the podcast might have read my review and wnet back to the old format and separated the retro radio and the regualr episodes, thanks)
-
A.JAXMy go-to podcast.Great voice and a little bit of something for everyone. It seems the only people who down rate it are non-Christians who simply can’t stomach a 5 second inspirational Bible verse read at the end of an episode and/or people who can’t handle an ad they don’t agree with. Get over yourselves. Keep up the good work Darren!
-
joeyb3581Please Separate old Time RadioI’ve been listening to your podcast for years and absolutely love it. However, you’ve recently started combining the old time radio shows with the “true” stories. I find myself marking those as already listed to, and searching for the next “true stories” only content. Again, Weird Darkness is one of my go-to podcasts, but the mixing of the content is rather frustrating. Other than that, thank you for the hours and hours of great true stories!
-
NenaT.Great shows, so entertaining and diverse.Dear D. I love your podcast all of it. I feel bad you have to explain yourself for the format you choose to do although I understand why you do it. Just a guess here but if your downloads are a bit less it may be just because there are way too many podcasts out there and it’s hard to get to all of them. I know it was why I haven’t listen to you for a bit, but I am back and I am not going away. I especially love your light episode endings. I agree been a Christian is hard and a responsibility because we know! That’s why they say ignorance is a blessing and we don’t have that luxury by choice…which in my personal experience it’s much better for the world. Stay strong and keep putting those episodes. I’ll be listening from Northridge, CA. 🤗
-
PegMcKJLove This Podcast!I’m so thankful I found this Podcast. Thank you Darren, for the hours of wonderful content you give us!
-
RoweboatbennettGood podcast but…Great podcast overall but the beginning to long with advertisements and stuff that has nothing to do with the podcast at all but there great keep it up man

cncampbeUpdate: PUTS ON REPEAT EPISODES TOO OFTENStop the replays of old episodes, please! Started on old episodes(2018), now on May 2023. Favorite episodes are Fireside Frights! Least favorite are the narrated short stories. I can not stand Darren’s accents…British, stoner dudes, hillbillies, women. YUK!!! Just can’t listen to these! My suggestion to Darren is to read them in his normal voice, which is nice! The only other negative is the frequency of reposts of old episodes. I’ve heard so many over and over again. I prefer new content! Overall, I do enjoy the podcast and would recommend to others. 11/29/23 Update: I’m becoming disenchanted with the podcast. I hear so many repeats of old episodes it feels like dejavu on over-drive. I’m listening to mid-October 2023 now. I’ll catch up to current and if this doesn’t stop, I’m onto something else. Sorry, Darren! I’m trying to find a reason to keep going with Weird Darkness.

jrferg172183Historical, Education and Above All Entertaining! Can’t say enough about this podcast, it is always an intriguing variety of stories with excellent delivery. Such a phenomenal mix of historical, educational and entertainment!
-
tambalam131989Love butI love this podcast but there are so many ads I have gotten pretty good at skipping past them. I love the sound of Darren’s voice. I will put on an old episode or one I don’t want to hear and play it to fall asleep. His voice is so soothing to me.
-
Samizdat5150One of the best podcasts!I started out listening to this because the host, Darren Marlar, sounds like Dan Aykroyd, who also likes topics of high strangeness. This show is unlike any other. It’s not just someone reading about the same topic for 2 hours. Each show delivers multiple topics read almost like a radio news show. This podcast is very high quality and packed full of content. The host is a professional voice actor. The content is well researched. It’s obvious that a team of people work on creating these shows. Episodes are release everyday, sometimes more than that. The show’s community is very cool. There are fun events like watch parties for classic movies from over 50 years ago and much more. Premium members get some really unique perks and extra content. The host is a really good person. He has a couple of other shows too. Don’t miss this podcast. Definitely worth supporting too.

ARYAN666Religious witchcraft mumbojumboEntertaining but whackjob religious witchcraft from the bible being read and psycho talk of it really kills the fun of it

Jersey Girl in VermontVery good!I like this podcast. Good stories and host has a great voice.
-
Tom in PennsylvaniaGood showWay too many commercials and adds.
-
Buck OdinsonWhat a fantastic podcast with the best host.Darren Marlar is a phenomenal voice. He tells stories both fictional and nonfictional regarding the paranormal, strange and of course weird. He covers every topic in this genre. Very very entertaining and at time informative.
-
paypalsucks2099Balanced Story TellingThe way the stories are told without bias but still enormously entertaining.
-
YrrhrafnWhat a waste of free timeThis is why I rarely engage with American podcasts regarding any subject. After endlessly hearing rants and raves about Weird Darkness I have to say after white knuckling my way through just one episode once again I find myself underwhelmed. Maybe American content is just not for me. Maybe it’s just such a generic podcast. I don’t know. Frankly, I don’t care. Give it a listen at your own risk I guess. Time is a most precious gift and I definitely regret wasting 57 minutes of my life.
-
Kat.H.FLove your showI love listening to your podcast. One of my most favorite podcasts!!! I’ve been listening to the October 10th episode.I just absolutely love the story about Gnomes. I just thought I would let you know. You said Zak Bagans is from Ghost Hunters I’m sorry to say, but Zak Bagans was from Ghost Adventures. I loved watching both of them shows and the travel Channel. Please keep up with the scary stories. Katrina F.
-
SaturnVrockThis is the standout podcast of the genreDarren Marlar. Great vocal tone and inflection in his talented narration delivery style. Not just a voice. This host is down to earth, genuine, and has a very real and warm heart for his listeners. Never met him in person, yet count him a good friend. Darren, the effort you put into everything, not just the podcast, and your open honest dialogue with your fans sets you far apart from most other hosts. Truly appreciate you.
-
See Through ManAd heavy…..This is a good show but it has about 30 minutes of ads in every episode over an hour. It gets very frustrating to have to skip through minutes of useless ads in between stories. This podcast is 1/3 show and 2/3 ads or advertising for the podcaster’s other shows or friends shows. It’s a decent listen if all your favorite podcasts have been listened to and you just need some background noise to keep your mind occupied.
-
ThaBUZZisYou would be silly not to appreciate it!Darren, you can tell that you put so much effort and care into each episode. It’s been a pleasure accidentally stumbling upon Weird Darkness years ago and I just wanted to convey my appreciation for what you bring to the table. Keep it up my friend!
-
allen lassiterShowYou have one of the best shows
-
Dorei JewlChanging review - gone downhillInitially loved it . It’s in the true crime care. He use to tell weird but believable stories , but now they go wayy beyond even somewhat believable . As a matter of fact it’s been awhile since he’s had any stories at all believable , and this is coming from someone who loves strange weird stories . Unsubscribing . 😞
-
Cede saidHardest working podcaster!I appreciate how hard Darren works for his fans. Goes above and beyond to make his audience feel like they’re family.
-
wbarley26Best oneBecause he tell stories great an example everything that he is saying that why I like this his podcast an I like graveyard tales too they are both great
-
Nbrooks87Favorite PodcastI love his storytelling and presentation!!! His voice, his calming tone soothes me and helps me on nights I can’t sleep.
-
BuffyfinnAwesomeI love Darren‘s voice I can’t explain why it’s just very combing and there’s some thing that makes me feel safe about his voice and I love all the varied stories some podcasts just have the same type of story all the time, and I love his light in the darkness Page
-
B McVTons of ads…I do really love the show, but 5-8 minutes worth of ads before the show even starts is a bit unbearable. And that’s just at the beginning. This doesn’t take into account the other 12 minutes of promos and ads throughout the show.
-
New zoo review 0909Listen you will loveGreat relaxing voice. Very consistently great topics.
-
Main Man JonConstant contentThis show is very well done and there is literally at least one new show per day sometimes more. Definitely recommend !
-
theycallmeBingQuality and quantityThis guy puts out an insane amount of content, I can always find something that fits my mood and peaks my interest. He’s multi talented, great voice for narrating and wide range of character voices. I also admire his heart, and his advocacy for mental health. I can relate to the struggle. Although his religious views may differ from mine, I very much respect his presentation of his beliefs and his obvious reverence and devotion to them. 10Stars
