    It’s ok
I keep on trying to like this put I can’t get into them with the voice of this lady or AI.

    Meh
I want to like this podcast, but it seems to ramble after a while and the numerous mispronunciations just kill it for me..

    Not relatable
The writing and narration seem like AI. I can follow for awhile, but then the story telling just seems off putting and rambling.

    Odd voice
It sounds slightly lispy, a monotone best I can describe it is a hoarse recovering from a bad cold forced whisper sounding kinda voice. Cant describe it better but its definetly not soothing nor suitable for an eerie/scary story podcast. Its like that unenthusiastic voice you have when you got chosen at school to read a few sentences from a book during english class after hopeing that you wouldnt get chosen but you do and now you have to read out loud to the class so you try to get it over with quick and completely ignore the fact that there are periods and commas.

    Suggestion
I love this podcast! I would also suggest a couple of gaming worlds! The PS game Fatal Frame and the PC game The 7th Guest! Both worlds are amazing and the stories are great and haunting!! I’m so happy I found this amazing podcast

Great show BUT soundtrack is rough
I love this show’s content but the music tracks are often incredibly distracting and don’t follow the ups and downs of the story being told. It’s sort of just blasting in the background, regardless of the story context. Either bring the track volume way down or match it to the story.

Perfect for heading to sleep! lol
Listening to the soothing voice while closing your eyes is a great experience and listening to the scary stories while going to sleep is very helpful for a better nights rest

    Hoia-Baciu Forest
Hoia-Baciu Forest was truly a great story if not one of the best I’ve heard recently. The narration was excellent.

    Wow!
Lovely episode on New Jersey Pine Barrens. I am a life long resident of this area. So well done . I’am getting a little homesick while I listen. I will always be a ‘Piney ‘ at heart. Will now listen to the episodes ! Great job on the research.

    Music is too much
Music is too loud and distracting.

Love this and her Freaky folklore podcast
I personally love how it’s delivered in story/ informational format, I think she’s a great narrator but I suppose lower the background music because there’s many complaints. Best wishes!

    Almost Perfect!
This is a Great & interesting format, especially for those who are always curious about the history/backstories of the subjects. It may just be me, but This is the first podcast in this category/genre, that starts a story, stopping midway to give a fact packed look into the subject’s historical significance, backstories,&/or explanations of other relevant information, then resumes the story. It may be hard to follow for a few listeners, But I Absolutely Love, bc it makes that part even More relevant & understanding, bc the questions have already formed in My mind,& are answered in a time that gives the conclusion of the story more impact!!! A Wonderful toned & Soothing voice, who injects just enough emotion & energy to be lively, but Rarely Startling, and as a Southerner, I really enjoy the readers accent!!! The level of background music &/or noises can be very distracting at times, making it hard to hear, or take in the story, causing me to have to “rewind”. And with diving into this particular podcast, using the season “bundles” for purposes of sleep issues, that I need a full hour, but many times Do manage to fall asleep beforehand, it’s just makes it easier than trying to piece 2-3 shorter ones together, & backtracking to where I last remember the stories- There were some Occasional Significant editing issues-one being a fairly long period of time, when two stories actually were overlapping each other, ruining Both-I did not check to see if the original podcast was put out that way, bc I seriously doubt they could’ve. All in All, it Really Is a Great podcast, & the Only reason it lost a star, is bc of the issues stated, that may not even be a bother to others, but we’re to me.

    Pronunciation
The narrator needs to learn how to pronounce words correctly. Every time she says subsequently, I want to rip out my headphones.

Love the stories, the music not so much.
Great stories and narration but the music is very distracting and makes it hard to focus on the story. Great podcast though!!! Maybe just lower the background music?
  • Durst98
    Um, no.
They say if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all… I don’t care. That is exactly how shows like this happen.

    Ugh
Interesting topics, terrible fake dialog and music.
  • Lunomoon
    Background music is KILLING me
I cannot hear most of the story because of the piano banging in the back ground. It ruins the mood of the story and take away from narration. Please consider changing this 😫😫
  • sirena18_88
Monotonous narrator one distracting backroind music
The content is good but the narrators voice is very monotonous, no feeling. And the music is un needed. Sometimes it gets so loud you strain to hear what she’s actually saying. On to the next one I guess.
  • antb1996
    Please drop/edit the background music
Its obnoxious and makes it hard to listen to
  • 10joules
That background music is so distracting
Would help to hear the narrator better than the BG music, which is played much louder than the narrator. ☹️

    ?
I have to ask: Why are you ruining what’s listed as a show about “haunted/terrifying” destinations with violin-backed side dramas about (paraphrased) Jim and the kids, and his wife, Cindy, who drinks? C’mon. Not sure about anyone else, but that is not what I came here for. What are you doing? And really why? Are you trying to be unique? You know, there is a massive shortage here of people who just tell the friggin’ story. Really, just tell the story. You have no idea how many people want that. Search for that. Just that. I mean, at this point, THAT would be ‘unique’. Sigh 🙄

Why is the background music so loud?
I love the content of this podcast. I love Carmen. But I absolutely hate the music that is supposed to set the mood as Carmen narrates. At times I can’t even hear Carmen. I never write reviews - this is actually my first one I’ve ever written. But I just couldn’t take the music anymore as I’m laying in bed right now. Only made it halfway though the episode and this isn’t the first time that it’s happen due to the awful LOUD music overpowering the narration. Turn it down or maybe no music at all. Please.

    Amazing!!
Love this podcast! Great job Carmen! A must listen, I’ve binged through them all!
  • Whisperedaria
    Interesting story, grating narrator
I’m sorry, I’m sure Carmen is a nice person, but her narration just grates on me. I keep trying because I love the eerie cast content, but I can’t listen to more than 15 minutes before I have to stop. Something about the nasal tone, monotonous delivery with sentences that end with the same pitches every time, and the accent combined irks my eardrums. I wish to high heaven Darkness would do something ghost related rather than just cryptids, but it looks like he’s uninterested in anything but creatures now.
